When we realize Victor is holding out because of his commitment to Leif, it adds a layer of complexity to both relationships. I only wish this story had been longer, so we could get to know Leif more and the dynamic the three protagonist shared could have allowed for Lyssa's wish fulfillment, which also never happened, but overall was still satisfying. And given the price, I expected this to be much shorter, but instead this was a much better read than some of her more expensive books.
God, Nathan was a jerk! I can't believe he was so presumptuous, and I also felt kinda bad for Lyssa once she found out exactly what an ass he was. Caveman, chest-beating, I'm-the-alpha-male jerkhole. I often like alpha males, but only when they're being alpha for the purpose of protecting their female. That was not the case with Nathan. It was more of an "I have to win" than him protecting Lyssa. Not that Lyssa wanted any kind of protection from Nathan, but she sure didn't want what it ultimately was. They sure had some fun there for a while, though, didn't they?
I also really liked how slow Victor took things with Lyssa. I think his attempts to stay loyal were admirable, even though they confused Lyssa because she didn't know he was being loyal to anyone. But that he wouldn't just take what she was offering I think made her stop and actually consider her feelings for Victor instead of it being just a physical release for the them both.
I'm not sure how I felt about Leif. He said one thing then did another, which worked out for them all, but I can see why Lyssa and Victor were so confused.
This was on the short-ish side, but definitely not a short story. I wish there had been just *one more scene* there at the end where I could have gotten my m/m/f. :-) But like I said, I'm greedy that way, lol.
Thank you to the author for providing this book in exchange for an honest review!
I always enjoy the books from this author and this was no exception.
It was a little different than her other works because it is written in the first person and you really get the feeling that you are there and see and feel everything through Lyssa's eyes.
Lyssa is a girl who likes sex, alot, and does not want to settle down with one man. In fact her dream is to have a menage with two men.
The man she is seeing, one of 5 people, is very homophobic and does not want any male male touching, and that frustrate her.
When she meets Victor she sees someone that she wants but he takes a "hands off" approach with her. Lots of watching and other things but no touching.
As she wants Victor her relationship with the other 5 people falls apart and things get very intense, especially with Nathan. He was a real jerk.
She see Victor and his lover, gorgeous actor Leif, having sex and hears Leif say Victor should stay away from Lyssa. She breaks it off with Victor but Leif has other ides. I will leave the ending for you to read but I will say it was very hot and satifying but kind of abrupt. I wish there could have been an epilogue and we could have found out how the three lovers fared after a time even thought the reader knows they will work out and find their happily ever after.
Thank you Madelynne Ellis for another wonderful book and please keep them coming.
