Thank for giving me a great ,learning time reading your book.
ridiculous & laugh out loud funny. I appreciated the obvious care the author had for his patients & the fact that he soon
realized that you don't just have to deal with the person that's ill, but in most cases the family member/s as well. Family
members can prove to be more difficult to deal with than the patient him/herself. The writer accomplishes both with professionalism and empathy. And he accomplishes this in a time when nursing was considered a "woman's " career choice. I applaud him for his "never give up" attitude/fortitude in staying with his chosen field. Good read!

Michael Alexander is a male nurse. One of his first jobs is on the gynaecology ward, which goes about as well as you might expect. He's done stints in A&E, general surgery, and psychiatric wards and he's got stories to tell about most of them. They're written in an entertaining and thoughtful manner, and it really gives an insight into the medical world, but it did feel quite repetitive in a way - most of the stories are about working on a medical ward, understaffed with too many patients. I much more enjoyed the stories about A&E - perhaps I just wanted a book with more drama that what I got here.
Whatever your reasons for reading this book it will entertain you and keep you hooked from the start and it will, most certainly, make you laugh out loud.
