Marc - the son of the groom - has been living from home because of his studies and now he is coming home for the wedding. It is a painful journey because the subject of his (unrequited) love is his future stepbrother Tony who Marc is certain is as straight as he can get (he has after all a girlfriend). Marc is planning to move out completely, to be able to avoid the pain it would be to meet with Tony regularly.
Tony on the other hand had "acquired" a girlfriend to disprove the whisperers. He discovers that there is more to Marc than he had believed, after discovering the content of a bag Marc had brought home with him.
The boys come out to each other and they initiate an affair, but Marc is still afraid to go public. He has seen more of the "world" and "knows" it is not as easy as Tony seems to believe.
Outing to the family is delivered in a way that makes sure "everybody" knows. The story has seemingly a HEA, but the boys are very young.
This is a sweet tale filled with I-don't-knows and I-can't-stand-being-with-him-without-telling-him and OMG-I-love-him-so-much that you almost scream out to get these two love sick kids to at least kiss.
Well, they eventually do, and it's nice to see it happen and even nicer when they carry it further, and you will smile and have a good time along the way. Enjoy the wedding. (One caveat: I think the portrait on the cover is supposed to be Marc, with Tony's back to us. Not what I would imagine Marc to look like, but that's just me).
This has all the angst and romance anyone could desire in a story. The characters are well developed, the interaction between family members is wonderful. The first time sex between Tony and Marc is well done for these two who have grown up loving each other. This is definitely one of the most romantic books, I have read this year. So break out that bottle of wine, get comfortable and enjoy.
