CUSTOMER COMMENTS: I just wanted to let the staff at golf outlets know that I love my elliptical bike. This particular bike is really a smooth ride and easy on the ankles, knees, hips and back. I've attached some before and after pictures so you can see what this machine did for me!!! A colleague of mine was so impressed at how fast i lost the weight he came over my house to see this machine that I'd been talking about, it took him all of 30 seconds of riding it before he asked me where he could purchase one! Andy - Levittown, NY.

When you build it, make sure to really tighten the screws, I mean REALLY TIGHT because they will unscrew while you ride if you don't.
Other than that, I've lost 6 pounds riding it 3 times a week for half an hour. Not too shabby.
*the machine can get a bit loud when working out (would not recommend for use at night). but i just bought myself an mp3 and use it while i work out so that pretty much eliminate the noise and keeps me distracted.
*the resistance is good, but could have been better. it gives a good workout but when the resistance is increased, the motions aren't really smooth and fluid and sometimes it locks a bit and then i have to practically jump on the pedal to get it going.
*like i said, amazing workout, but you sort of have to tighten the bolts (in the pedals and handles mostly) at least 3 times a week. otherwise it may just break on you. (but this isn't a huge deal considering it only takes about 5 minutes to securely tighten everything).
*the manual SUCKS. and i repeat, the manual you get SUCKS. if you had no idea what you were doing or are horrible at installing things, this will be a dozy by yourself. i basically had to rely on common sense and evaluation for a good portion of the time. the only thing the manual is really good for is knowing what goes were. but other than that it doesn't really elaborate on which screws do what, what tool to use when screwing, etc. (but this also isn't too bad because after working on it for about 20 mins you start becoming familiar with the tools and what should go were).
other than these minor inconveniences that really shouldn't stop you from buying this wonderful product, i really can't think of any other reasons why i wouldn't give this five stars.
so if you're strapped tight for cash and don't want a big, bulky $800 machine, this is amazing for you. it really gets the job done!
Okay so i was using it one day and everything was going good until all of a sudden the pedal just snaps off! (and i wasn't even putting all my weight on it). so now every time i work out i have to be careful not to put too much weight on the left side and even then the pedal still wobbles. at first i didn't think that the cracked pedal (yes, it came like that) was going to be a problem when it arrived but i guess i was wrong. so i call amazon and ask if i can get a replacement pedal but they tell me that i either send it back and get a full refund or i keep it and they refund me 12 bucks for the pedal. not very pleased but what can i do? i'm not going to go through the hassle of refunds just for a pedal. ... so not sure what i'm going to do now (maybe try super glue?) but point is that you should save your money and invest in something more expensive that doesn't have cheap plastic pedals.
ok so about a week after the first update, the bar part of the handles began to unscrew and fall off. since it became clear that the company was going to be of no help, i decided to take matters into my own hands and super glued that back together. along the way, i also figured out a solution for the pedal- i simply took the washers and put them on the top of the pedal (the part where your feet go) and screwed on the screws. so now the pedal stays perfectly in place and i no longer have any more problems with this machine. so far it's helped me get an amazing workout and even though it's gotten a bit more noisy, i'm much happier with it.
First off this machine was loud, I had to really crank up the volume on the TV to be able to watch TV while working out. I did not bother trying to fix the annoying squeaks or clanks. Eventually one of the bolts in the foot pedal stripped out. My husband who is a mechanical engineer had a buddy at a machine shop who custom made me a new bolt that would not strip out. Eventually the second bolt stripped out too. The metal frame also got a crack in it (which my husband's buddy welded back together for me). When the frame got a second crack, I gave up and decided that I would kick this one to the curb and invest in a more expensive, better quality elliptical.
This machine did serve me as well as it helped me lose 30 lbs (Female 5/5" went from 168 lbs to 138 lbs in a little over 3 months - but also modified my diet). It lasted a short while (2-3 months) before it broke. I was able to extend the life of the product by repairing it myself, but I guess most people don't have friends that can weld their machines or make custom bolts for when it breaks.
Basically, I think this is a good "trial" elliptical to see if you will commit to working out at home. Other than that, it's cheap, so yes it will not last long and will fall apart soon and will have problems with noise, etc... If you can live with all of that, then it might be right for you. If you are a heavy duty exerciser and are trying to save money, spend a little more, as you will probably be disappointed with this product.
