About the author

Nita Leland, a resident of Dayton, Ohio, describes the journey into art that began in 1970 when her husband gave her a surprise gift of watercolor paints. She shares how her life changed in 'Born Creative: A Memoir of Paint, Passion & Purpose' (2020). Nita taught watercolor for many years and developed a passion for color, which led her to write her first book in 1985, published by North Light Books. Three more titles followed and all are still in print, three having had several revisions and updates: 'Confident Color' (2008); 'New Creative Collage Techniques'; (2011); 'The New Creative Artist' (2018)
'Exploring Color Workshop, 30th Anniversary Edition' (2020). All continued her exploration into creativity, color and collage for her students. Nita has taught workshops throughout the United States and Canada and still teaches a watercolor class at the Washington Township Enrichment Center in Dayton.

I have started my file and it makes a one-stop place to look for things. I don't have to remember what book or article I found it in. With my memory (or lack of) that is a real time saver.
Also the process of creating the file item helps to cement the idea in my mind.
The rest of the book is excellent and provides great experiments for beginners.
Like she says, "Try It!"
