The twists and turns have you flipping the pages fast as you begin to get some answers, and your world is rocked. - Kat DeSalle - Author of Has-Been Series

Conflicted was an okay read for me. I felt a little lost when I started reading.. I didn't know how all the characters fit together. I keep reading because I was curious on what was going to happen. I never really felt a connection with Mia. I think the lack of connection with the characters made the book a little hard for me to enjoy.

The storyline has some great elements. There is a cliffhanger. Even though I struggled a little with this book, I still will read the next one because I want to know what's next for Mia.

3 1/2 Stars!!!

MUST BUY ALL 3 IF YOU WANT AN ENDING. I detests books like this. The description should clearly state INCOMPLETE book. Very few books in series end this way and it just feels like a con job to get you to buy more books. While I'm curious what happens I'm just going to forget about it and move on to a more REPUTABLE author who isn't a con artist.

I must say I'm a bit lost for words, maybe conflicted, about what to write about this book!! I felt out of breath reading it! The author has packed so much into this book. There's so many twists and turns that I thought I had everything worked out and then got thrown another curve ball and all my theories disintegrated!

It was the kind of book that I don't think was relaxing, probably because I was trying to work things out as I was reading. It was like un-knotting a ball of tangled smile at the end result, but it's a puzzle to get there!

The room mates were all different characters and they all had Mia's best interests at heart but I felt they were better friends to her, than she was to them. I can't say I connected with her as much as I did with some of the others. She seemed very young and easily led.

I'll certainly be interested to see where this story goes as I'm not sure the people I think I trust, will end up being the trustworthy ones in the end!!

This is book 1 in the Secret and Lies series and be forewarned there's a cliffhanger!

What happens when you're in college living your life and doing what you're suppose to do and one're expelled? That's what happened to Mia. It was totally unfair and she has no idea why any of it happened.

She now lives in a house with 3 of her best college friends. They definitely have a party house going on! Until she figures out what direction to go, she is so thankful she has her roommates. They are all like family to her since she only had her uncle growing up. She recently had a break up with her boyfriend, Micah. She went home one day and all his things were gone. She had found a note from him later, but even a year later she hadn't opened it. She has taken on the life of partying and sleeping with multiple guys (of course, they each think she's being exclusive with them).

Her advisor request to see her one day at college and is there with the owner of Inside Out magazine and they have a proposition for her. She is to infiltrate herself into a company and report back her findings of what this company is up to. Her payment will be her dream job at Inside Out magazine. No problem, right!!?

That all sounds good..until she meets her boss Ethan Fitzgerald! He's a walking God!! And that's where our story takes it's first turn of mysterious events!! This book kept me on my toes, that's for sure! I just had to read faster because I had to know if she would give into her feelings for Ethan! If Micah comes back in the picture will she let him explain what happened or not? Like, I said, this book just makes you want to read fast!!

I enjoyed this book, overall. There were many twists and turns! However, sometimes I felt like it was too descriptive in parts that didn't need to be. The cliffhanger was pure torture and I do plan on reading the rest of this series!

CONFLICTED by M.M. Koenig was my first read by this author, and it did not disappoint, there was so much going on in this book that by the end my head was spinning, in a good way.

The story in this book is very well written and developed, the plot is very fast paced and will keep you hooked reading Mia's story. The characters in this book are very well written and you cant help but fall in love with Mia and Ethan, and the chemistry that these two have will make you wonder why it takes them so long to finally cross the line of boss/employee to lovers.

This book follows Mia as she picks up her life after her world was destroyed by her ex-boyfriend when he set her up and had her expelled from school. Picking up the pieces is harder than she thinks and when she takes a job as a mole in a business that has ties to the some shady people, Mia thinks her life is starting to come back together. What Mia did not count on was how sizzling hot her boss would be and how hard she would have to fight to resist the draw she feels to him, add in the secrets that she is keeping from her family (the good friends that she lives with), and the secrets that she is keeping from her boss, Ethan. Then there are the secrets that Ethan is keeping, did I mention that this book is filled with secrets and some really hot sex. Mia's life really spirals out of control again when she tries to get out of being the mole.

CONFLICTED by M.M. Koeing will leave you just that at the end of the book, conflicted about what's going on and how things are going to turn out between Mia and Ethan, and will leave you needing book two in the series. I would give CONFLICTED 4/5 stars.
