A new threat to the United States has emerged within its own borders. Deutsche Christen, a powerful paramilitary organization, led by a ruthless ex-Special Forces Officer, Carl Dietrich, is threatening to overthrow the U.S. government and assume absolute power over the country.

Bolstered by the overwhelming support provided by two foreign governments, Dietrich believes his forces to be invincible, and his future rise to power inevitable.

Hoping to garner additional members for his organization, he demands an interview with Sean Carrol, an ex-Special Forces officer and an investigative reporter for the New York International News. Dietrich orders that their meeting be held at one of the Deutsche Christen paramilitary camps. To assure Seans cooperation, he kidnaps his niece and nephew.

Understanding Dietrichs rationale for the meeting and further realizing that his niece and nephew arent going to be released, Sean develops a plan to rescue the children. Desperate, he along with Colonel Gannon, his ex-commander, reorganize his old Special Forces team and create a rescue mission.

While tensions rise worldwide and threats of war loom, panic takes center stage, as the prospect for cataclysmic destruction promises to annihilate civilization as we know it.

Putting this book down was not an option. Once I began reading it I was gripped by the story and had to keep reading because I wanted to know what was coming next. The author does a brilliant job of taking the reader on a roller coaster ride of emotions built around a tense and thrilling story. I am sure you will come to hate Carl Dietrich as much as you will come to love Sean Carrol, two ex-Special Forces Officers who are headed on a collision course centered around the potential eruption of another world war.

Author William Brazzel does such a great job of building up his characters, both good and evil, that you will become engrossed in the stories revolving around them. Even Carroll's trusted canine companion, Boynton, a five-year old German shepherd, plays a key role. This is a book that I highly recommend and if I could give it a sixth star I would. I enjoyed it that much.

Conflux was such an intensely intriguing read! William Brazzel makes you feel like you are a part of Sean Carroll's (main character) life. I felt like I was in the thick of things, right alongside him! Some of the chapters are so descriptive and intense, that it brought a year to my eye. The emotion is so real and the storyline keeps you wanting to read on!

From the opening pages until the last words, I truly felt like I was on a roller coaster and a part of the story. Just as you think you think it is coming together Bam, another roller coaster drop. My heart was in my mouth as I continued to read one adventure after another trying to get to the end. It is truly a good versus evil. A must read for everyone but be prepared to ride the roller coaster!

Given the times we’re living in, William Brazzel, has given his readers a well-written, powerful, riveting story.

Something is about to threaten the very existence of United States, and it comes not from any Islamic factor, it comes from a former member of our own Special Forces in the guise of Carl Dietrich. Carl is now the leader of a formidable underground group known as Deutsche Christen [German Christians] and he’s become quite ruthless in whatever he wants to accomplish, which is now threatening to create a coup that will take over the US government so he can obtain the unconditional supremacy over it.

Unfortunately, he’s already obtained tremendous backing from two foreign governments, namely a Russian-Chinese alliance. Naturally, individuals like this are often delusional in the belief that they’re indestructible, which is what Carl is; so much so he’s under the misguided impression that his rise to power is a certainty.

With an antagonist like this on the loose, we need to have some protagonist to come along to take him down. Luckily Sean Carrol is that protagonist who being coerced by Carl’s that Sean’s kidnapped niece and nephew will be harmed if he doesn’t cooperate. While he seems to be amenable with Carl’s diabolical plans, secretively with the help of Colonel Gannon, his former commander and others he develops a clandestine plan to first rescue his young relatives and then proceed to thwart all of Carl’s fiendish ideas.

Will Sean and his comrades be able to rescue Sean’s niece and nephew? Will they be able to defeat the triad of Carl, Chinese and Russian forces? Will Carl see the demise his vision of ruling the U.S? Will the US be able to survive this affront to democracy? These and other questions which arise and all be answered as you read captivating, page-turning story until the final period.

With all things considered, how can I not give this book the 5 STARS I’ve given it.

This book has given the reader some thought about all the individual shooting within the US. What if these shooters were to unite for their cause. What type of chaos would happen within our country. The main character Sean Carrol has the charism of a Jack Reacher, trying to save our country from internal and external conflict. When a fictional story borders on the edge of a nonfiction story, this allows the reader to reflect upon their on own live. This book keeps you on the edge, wanting to know what will happen next. Truly an enjoyable book for the avid reader.
