"There are two devil's in these mountains," he warns...
The fictitious Indian is right. There are two men in Carmel Valley, California committing heinous acts of violence against teenage girls. Tristian is going to need to accept her psychic talent and work with this ancient Indian spirit in order to save the lives of these young women.
The story itself was very entertaining and I enjoyed how local Indian history was weaved into the Northern/Central California scenery. What I am not so sure about is the heavy amounts of rape. Don't get me wrong, the violent scenes were kept to a minimum, but Carmel Valley is such a small town to have so much lewd behavior. The manager at the hardware store was a rapist, the man child was a rapist, the killer was of course a rapist, Betty's father was a rapist, Betty's ex husband had a thing for young girls, and now it seems book two will be heading into the same direction with the home invasion/rape of a young mother. I guess we will just have to see how Tristan handles this new threat...
I think the book should be made into a movie. someone
should send the book to Peter Jackson. He would due
