Shannon Curtis, based out of LA, is a songwriter of exquisite lyrics about relationships, a keyboardist of talent who lays down a bed of sound and then sings with a voice that has almost the range of a Kate Bush and qualities of a Sarah McLaughlin, as well. And then the key to it all: her entire performance is a sharing from her heart, speaking about what she learned talking with people on her tours and finding a way to turn that into song. She is the REAL DEAL, folks.
Shannon's Curtis's new album, CONNECTIONS, is an outgrowth of a four year house concert journey. It comes from the people she met on the tours, sharing their life stories with her. As you can hear in this album, she made songs and programs out of that sharing, hoping to explore and help others who have had pain. A TED talk she did on the subject, "Connections" will be out soon. A kind and listening lady in person, her welcoming attitude makes people just open up and blossom. Good on her!
Fine music by a sharing person. CONNECTIONS: Git it! Joyce's musician husband, James
