Sizing information

A properly fitting helmet is crucial for safety. Place a cloth tape measure or string about an inch above eyebrows and measure all the way around the back of the head. Take a few measurements and use the largest. Remember, helmets will "break in" with use. The helmet should fit as tight as one can comfortably withstand to wear.

Good: Its snell rated, so it will get on the track, and its affordable.
Bad: After years of wearing motorcycle helmets this is one of the least comfortable and most cheaply made helmets I have ever used. Its very heavy and enormously thick, like 3+" on each side of your head and above, so make sure it will fit in the headroom on your car. You will look like a martian. These thick pads are also extremely stiff and do not conform to your head/face at all. I usually wear a M or S so I ordered a large expecting it to just fit loosely and be comfortable. Should have gone with the XL because this still feels like I'm wearing a vice on my head and squeezes my face, but already have problems with head room in my corvette (I'm 6'1'') with this on so any larger may not fit at all. I can wear it for 30 minutes or so at a time, and get my laps in, then its immediately off.

Best way to get on track.

Instead of paying $35 to rent a sweaty old helmet every time I went to the track, I bought one of these.

It paid for itself after 4 events.

It is not very light, but if you're only wearing it for 20 minutes at a time, its fine. You'll build some neck muscles.

Beware if you have limited headroom in your car. This will drastically cut down on that, and you may have to recline your seat slightly. Tall people problems.

Good value helmet for track days

Decent bone dome for the money and fine for occasional track days. Decidedly inferior in detail quality to a the Simpson open face helmets I've had before and a bit bulkier, but good value and fine for the purpose (my last Simpson was Snell 2005, still totally mint but many events require Snell 2010+ these days!). As the other reviews suggest, go a size up. The L fits me comfortably while my last 2 Simpsons have been M and I suspect that the M from this vendor would be a bit too tight.

This helmet is huge. That being said, it is surprisingly light and comfortable....but truly massive. It is probably okay for a motorcycle, but would not fit in my track car under my roll bar, and I'm not tall. The visor is also transparent, but has a huge CONQUER sticker that covers it which was not in the photo. I returned the helmet for a slightly cheaper one that felt as good and was a normal size.

Amazon is pushing this brand of helmet hard. However, this has got to be the cheapest feeling helmet I've ever been in contact with. It has the quality of a cheap child's toy. The sizing chart is accurate at least. But there is virtually no padding. Don't waste your time or money on this thing. There are plenty of options out there in a similar price range from Zamp and some others.
