About the Author
Kathryn has been a reader since she was a young child. Although she took classes in writing as a teen, it wasn't something she really thought would become her career until she was married. And even then, it took a few more years for something worthy enough to publish to manifest itself.
Kathryn's first book was published in 2002. Since then, many other books have found their way out of her head depending on the sort of day she is having. Kathryn is a journalist, a teacher, a mentor, an editor, a publisher, and a marketer.
Her greatest joy, other than writing her next book, is meeting with readers and authors who enjoy the craft of writing as much as she does.

A problem or situation that is bigger than you and more daunting that you have strength to handle?
Do you struggle with insecurities or worries?
Then think about David...
David slew Goliath with a few simple stones...
Read this story of Ms. Virginia Bean who needs help with her very personal problem of being laid off and not being able to find another job.
As she talks with a man in a fisherman's hat he gives her the gift of 5 stones...
Each stone represents an aspect that will help her in her journey.
Those 5 stones represent:
*Listening
*Trust
*Optimism
*Tenacity
*Constancy
Walk with Virginia as she carries her stones, sometimes dropping them, sometimes losing them, and sometimes even forgetting them.
Learn that "things are not always as they appear."
We each have within our capacity the access to these same stones...stones that will help us conquer our own Goliaths.
A GREAT reminder of what matters most and how to solve our individual struggles.
This book is WONDERFUL!
She has a new manner in which to present probably the most important aspects of life beyond those usually found in religious writings and does so in a most enlightening and unique manner. Then she sums them up at the end so when a person needs that little something to keep going, or even as an aspect of adoration, just open to the page and absorb the thoughts. I recommend this novella for all Christians as an addition to their religious library.
Upon reading the first few paragraphs of Jones’ book, Conquering Your Goliaths: A Parable of the Five Stones, I knew immediately that I would like it. Kathryn has a natural ease in her writing that invites you to sit back and savor each word. In this story we follow Virginia, a young woman who is forced, by the loss of her job, to face life-changing challenges. Unsuspecting and sometimes questioning, Virginia meets God as an unpretentious who guides her along a journey to find her strengths and accept disappointments.
Conquering Your Goliaths teaches the moral and spiritual lessons of the five stones of David. There is a message for everyone in this book and one that can be shared with the entire family.
Join her as she travels on her own personal journey. See what she does. Learn how she grows. Discover what she becomes.

I enjoyed reading this book very much. I actually started reading this book on April 12 and probably would have finished this book much sooner, but my Kindle's battery overloaded on April 15 and until I can get it fixed or buy a new Kindle for myself, any reading of ebooks will have to be done on my computer. Reading ebooks on my computer slows down the pace of my reading for some reason, and I don't really understand why.
Anyway, in my opinion, 'Conquering Your Goliaths: A Parable of the Five Stones' by Kathryn Elizabeth Jones deserves an A! This book does have a strongly Christian theme running through it. It is very well-written and understandable, and primarily is about how you can live an inspired and inspiring life.
Full Disclosure: 'Conquering Your Goliaths: A Parable of the Five Stones' by Kathryn Elizabeth Jones read and reviewed by Mareena McGirr, an avid reader and book reviewer from Albany, New York. Many thanks to the author as I received a copy of this book for free from her.
