Paul's ususal nonsense and hypocrisy shines through in this book. Late in the book he acknowledges that inflation has eroded the purchasing power of low income earners, yet a page or two later he advocates policies that lead to greater inflation such as monetary and fiscal stimulus.
He also promotes the conspiracy theory (his words) that the biggest reason there are small government conservatives is because of think tanks like the Hoover institution and other conservative think tanks, which put out false or fraudulent information. Very few times does he cite actual conservative claims and refute them with logic and data.
For considering himself an economist, most of the book is spent talking about politics and various presidential candidates , which really don't add much to the book.
He also has very few citations in this book. Theres a citation perhaps every 5 or 7 pages, compare that to a book by Thomas Sowell whose books has about 1 citation per page.
Probably the best reasoned part of this book is his discussion of "Medicare for All", I must say in all honesty I'm more open to the idea than I was before.
Worth the read, but please read a conservative economists book too.
