"In Conscious Musings Alexis Brooks reminds us that the perfect world we are looking for might already be here. With an emphasis on personal responsibility and the importance of service to others, we become the change we want to see. This is an intelligently written, thoughtfully composed collection of essays that examine the human potential. It is a well- researched book that examines the influence of consciousness on reality, looking at the act of reflection rather than reaction. I was particularly intrigued by the idea that a simple change in one's daily routine can be a pre- cursor to change in other areas of life. Read this enlightening work, and as Alexis so clearly states, 'Embrace the journey'." -William Buhlman, author of Adventures in the Afterlife
"Conscious Musings is a marvelous collection of metaphysical principles designed to both educate and enlighten the reader. I highly recommend this book."-Dr. Bruce Goldberg, author of Exploring the Fifth Dimension - Parallel Universes, Teleportation and Out-of-Body Travel

Conscious Musings guides us through the challenges of our times, envisioning a state of mindful awareness and wonder we can attain by which all problems can be solved."-Cynthia Sue Larson, author of Reality Shifts - When Consciousness Changes the Physical World
"Alexis Brooks is a great 'muser!' She zooms in on poignant topics in the news and life, and examines them in a spiritual, intuitive light. She connects the nonphysical and physical realms this way, helping us see through the veil of confusion and ignorance that surrounds us on a daily basis. It's fun to contemplate the ideas along with her. It will help you notice other important things that want noticing."-Penney Peirce, author of Leap of Perception and Frequency

This work is a great contribution to an awakening humanity."-Steve Bhaerman aka Swami Beyondananda, co-author with Bruce Lipton of Spontaneous Evolution - Our Positive Future and A Way to Get There From Here
"Alexis Brooks' search for truth has been so diligent that her Conscious Musings is able to offer sophisticated insights beyond the usual platitudes. The altitude of her worldview allows her to see beyond seeming dichotomies. She describes how a true ego is necessary to be both distinct and unified with the cosmos, that responsible individualism is the core of real connectedness as community and that authentic spirituality depends on the recognition of our sovereignty of every being. Such grounded expansiveness is both inspiring and timely when both waking up and clear manifesting are critical."-Foster Gamble, Creator of Thrive Movie - What On Earth Will it Take?

The book starts off explaining how we as the individual fit into the whole of consciousness. Like a whirlpool that is individuated, yet still part of the the whole of the river. Everything is made from the same thing(energy) yet we can experience being completely original at the same time.
Next, Alexis explains the true nature of reality and how we can transcend the rules of reality. How manifestation actually works. It's more than just wanting with your mind, it's about how the heart, which has a higher electrical charge than your brain, can bring into reality what you focus.
"It has been found that the heart generates potency far beyond that of the brain." page 16 What Alexis does, is give the reader the background on how the 'secret' works.
Our world has been based on the left side of the brain(ego) for a long time now, leaving the right(heart)side almost completely out, which might just be our downfall if we continue.
What we need is an evolution, not a revolution, as Alexis so eloquently puts it. "When you take revolution, the root is revolve, meaning the act of repeated rotation. Evolution yields the verb-evolve; the act of growing from a seed to a flower, from caterpillar to butterfly." page 33
Alexis references her sources at the end of the book along with websites for easy access for those who want to delve deeper into the ideas she brings up. Intelligently written, while still maintaining a warmth that makes this a wonderful book to read, and to learn from. This book would make a great gift for someone wrestling with their life choices and feeling trapped with no idea how to create the kind of life their heart desires.
This book provides a wonderful and very approachable introduction into a wide array of empowering contemporary philosophies.
The book is really a reference for taking an honest look at yourself and the world and taking action to make your full capability in life a reality.
with ourselves. There is a rush to the center of being
wherein the truth lies.
The highest form of learning is through altruism versus
the id. Competition itself can be destructive when it seals
off other, perhaps, meritorious possibilities or outcomes.
We must realize that the ego can be very destructive
because it encourages action based on short term impulses
rather than carefully considered alternatives. Groupthink
is even more dangerous because it destroys individuality
and leads to global prejudging in place of individual judgments
based upon verifiable personal interactions.
Sometimes, the journey less traveled produces the best results
because more time can be spent in contemplation. Contrast this to
sum zero sniping when too many people are competing for the
same limited space or availability.
The author explains a very important concept that people must
evolve to change from the prism of having more and better
information. To some extent, this happened when Mikhail Gorbachev
imagined that the former Soviet Union could emulate the very
successful Canadian model of governance and prosperity. We need
more of this kind of imagining in today's world.
The book cites things like miracle recoveries. These happenings may
be due to the body recovering when in a highly relaxed state. When the
body is relaxed, healing can occur on the all-important cellular level.
Lastly, dreams can produce a superior alternate reality based on
imagination. This is possible because the mind is in the highest
state of relaxation which is a condition precedent to imagining the
most optimal outcomes or possibilities.
Brooks has produced a very important book on the potentialities
for the Age of Aquarius. Humankind made that transition rather
uneventfully on the date cited by the Mayan Calendar.
Even Pope Benedict 16th realized the great opportunity when he
stepped down in order to make way for Pope Francis. This result
was certainly more desirable than having a Peter Romanus who
was predicted to be the last Pope of the Catholic Church.
