This Is the Way the World Ends.
Four years after a tragic mission decimated his team, Cole "Tox" Russell has been disavowed by the United States. And that's fine--he just wants to be left alone. But when a dormant, centuries-old disease is unleashed, Tox is lured back into action.
Tox and his former Special Forces team regroup to work with FBI deception expert, Kasey Cortes, and fiery archaeologist, Tzivia Khalon, to search the globe for answers--and a cure. As the mission leads from one continent to another, it becomes clear they're not just fighting a plague but battling an ancient secret society whose true goals remain hidden.
With time running out and the threat for a global pandemic rising, Tox and his team realize their sole chance might be to reach back through centuries of silence to find the only answer that can save them all.
"This fast-moving, roller-coaster thriller, with its powerful clandestine society, ancient secret, nefarious conspiracies, search spanning the globe, and under-pressure romance is sure to please fans of romantic suspense and military ops romances."--Booklist
"Kendig keeps the tensions high and the pace lightning fast, with military action scenes worthy of Vince Flynn. Especially noteworthy is watching the character development of elite modern warriors forced to confront and accept ancient history, faith, and supernatural power. Kendig fans will love this opening novel in her new series."--Publishers Weekly

Top Customer Reviews
Ronie Kendig has a penchant for military themed novels but fans will be impressed with the historical theme in Conspiracy of Silence. Drawing on detailed research that spans across centuries, continents, religions, and cultures, fans of Dan Brown or Joel C. Rosenberg will find it difficult not to include Ms. Kendig among their equal.
*I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
Sure glad this is the first installment (after her novella, The Warrior's Seal) to kick off this rip-roarin', ordinance-exploding, awesome literary piece of work! I really loved it!
Like all of her novels, this one is fast-paced suspense, moving the well-developed characters through a storyline that has the reader both wanting to read faster to find out what happens, all the while choosing to read at a slower pace because you just don't want to miss a single piece of the action.
Conspiracy of Silence is the first full-length novel in Ronie Kendig's new series, The Tox Files. While you are waiting for your copy to arrive, you can read the prequel to the series, The Warrior's Seal, currently free for Kindle. Don't have a Kindle? There are many options to download the Kindle app to your phone, tablet and even your computer. Go ahead, get started on this great series today. You will love it.
I recommend beginning with the action-packed novella, it introduces a lot of the characters and is the backstory for this book. Reading it first gives a greater depth to this story; character motivations and reactions are more easily understood.
Conspiracy of Silence had me enthralled and annoyed every time life intervened. It was an action - and emotionally packed - story. I appreciated how well Ms Kendig handled certain sensitive issues regarding the Jewish text. The author's note provides extra information regarding the text for those interested in looking further.
I found the romance side of this story to be a little less obvious than in previous books, to the point that I'd say it was predominantly action with a generous side of romance. It didn't come across as the main goal of the book, although the romance thread had a satisfying resolution. This book would likely appeal to both the male and female population.
Another excellent story. Thank you, Ronie Kendig! Please tell me it will be available as an audiobook also!
