what an amazing series! the storyline kept my interest and the characters are well developed. one of my favorite things about this series is how real the characters are. they do not have a crazy broken past that they have to work through. I'm not saying they don't have issues...but the issues they have are realistic and believable. the characters are down to earth and seemingly real. the series never gets so over the top that it's unbelievable. the story has a lot of romance and some red hot scenes but sex is always secondary to the story. I never felt like the author was dragging out the story just to fill pages or adding fluff just to have the characters jump back into bed, which was nice. there are a few minor editing issues, which were irritating but not so drastic that it detracted from the story for me.

Now, the cover alone should receive the highest rating! We love it simple and we love the color pink! One of us is even a huge fan of Martinis * wink wink to Allison * so the cover really made our day.
The image on the cover actually has something to do with the story. Call us easy to please, but we get excited everytime we find a connection between the cover and story. Those are pretty rare these days ( you know....a guy with washboard tummy on a book cover and the hero (in the same book) is lean and sleek? Totally unacceptable)

While we were reading Consumed, we thought that the book was a great read. Nothing to spiffy, just a great story that held our attention. The characters were well displayed and each of them had their own voices. Addison was a brokenhearted young woman who turned into a stong-headed personality. We enjoyed to see how she went from a miserable, opinionless church mouse into a stunning, brand new , independent woman who new what she wanted.
Liam Mason.

Liam was this God- like handsome man who wanted Addison the minute he laid eyes on her. He was a normal guy with a normal job and had it bad for the woman who just came out of a screwed up relationship.

Now, here's the thing....throughout the whole story we felt Liam's character was being held back. We knew nothing other than how fabulous his appearance was and that he worked/ lived in a casino, and that he had a history he himself wasn't too proud of. The fact that he always wanted to get to know Addison was good, but for some reason....his character was left out, leaving us with no deeper insight. We figured maybe that was what the author wanted....just to focus more on Addison than Liam.....but then our world was flipped upside down!

OMG!

Let me start by elaborating on the fact that i am let down by this story. I do believe that I was expecting this novel to be very interesting and that i would be hooked immediately. However, I found myself bored and irritated for more that the first half of the book.

I was introduced to Addison, a young woman who had just been kicked out of her house buy her 8 year boyfriend. Luckily, she has friends and moves in with the one she also works with at an advertising business. As Addison and her friends go to one of hte casino/bar. It is here that Addison meets Liam the 'bartender' who is incredibly handsome.

Here is where i become annoyed. She keeps running into Liam, and even though she 'wants him', she keeps running away from him. They have a date, they kiss; she runs. He calls her; she never calls back. She wants him; she stays away. Liam finally finds a way to see her again and this time she doesn't run away, but she is close.

Now, when i first met 'the bartender', i assumed he was more than that. When Addison asks him, 'have you always wanted to be a bartender', and he spits out/chokes on his beverage, my assumptions are more solid. There are many things that he talks about that should have made her say 'what other jobs have you had/do you have', 'what did you do with all the money your uncle left you',? But she ignores.

It is in the last few chapters of the story, that i actually become interesting to the story. Of course the author puts it at the end since it is a trilogy (so far it is and i assume it is three). I am debating on whether i should move on to the second one, but i can't imagine i will pay more than .99c.

This book will draw you in and before you know it you're at the end. Addison is heartbroken and had trust issues but for the first time is living a life all her own and loving it. Along comes Liam Mason perfect and persistent bit is he too perfect. How do you give yourself over to someone 100% when deep down you know something is off. The chemistry between Addison and Liam is hot and will have you rooting for them. Ending will have you one clicking next book when you are finished.

Ok I'm not going to lie when I first started this book I was not feeling well and was super tired, so I told myself I would read a couple pages then go to sleep, well that went right out of my head because Addison pulled me right in and I was instantly hooked!! I love how Addison found herself among her breakup with Grayson and kept on through out the whole book, even when her heart wavered her mind was there to snap her out of it which is sexy and powerful!!! Now Liam, Liam, Liam!! I totally agreed with Addison he was something much more(you will see no spoilers here) even with those thoughts Liam was easy to love, how he cares for Addison how he makes her see her own self worth through his eyes and his actions (sighs) you will fall in love even harder with Addison's man, all the things he does for her and (shudders) to her, well yummy doesn't do him justice, neither does sexy, addictive, divine, caring, protective, and hot!! Nope those words only show you a small piece of Addison's Liam.
Kristina and Dana are the best friends every girl/woman hopes to have, friends who love you at your best and say your freaking awesome at your worst now here's some chocolate and oh yeah we are going out to party!!! Yes I loved these two women on team Addie!! Aunt Kelly sounded like a blast that even though I have a pretty awesome aunt I wanted to reach in and steal Aunt Kelly just for a bit...
