Product Description

Organize that stack of business cards and scribbled notes using Contacts for Kindle.

Contacts tracks names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, notes, and other information about people and companies. Once you store the information, it's easy to access with an easy to use Search feature. You can even combine several words like "Mike Chicago" to find all the Mikes you know in Chicago. You can also search for words in your free-form notes.

Contacts can store up to 1000 records, and supports multiple fields for many types of phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses, as well as organizations and titles. Already have your contacts on your computer but want to have them on the go? Contacts will import many vCard records from existing contact software and address books that use ANSI character vCards in either 2.1 or 3.0 vCard file format.

Contacts for Kindle is a handy way to make sure you always have important names and addresses with you wherever you go.

I wasn't sure how useful this would be, since I didn't want to type out all my contacts.

This program uses a universal format, though.....

Both Yahoo and Gmail allow simple export of your Contacts list in a vCard format. Click Contacts, the Tools, then Export. Move it to your Kindle. Done. Before purchasing, definitely check to make sure that your contact list is in an exportable format.

Very, very nice. I love it when a program does all the work for me.

Recommended.

I find the SEARCH feature on this Contacts program to be REALLY IMPRESSIVE. With one or two keystrokes I find contacts where ANY field of the contact matches the search. Moreover, I have not had any problems with the software, even though I am kind of sloppy how I exit the program. But, the real selling point is how perfectly the Contacts software imported my contacts which I happened to have to import from my cellphone. EVEN WITH THE CELLPHONE HAVING VERY DIFFERENT FIELDS FROM THE DEFAULT FIELDS IN THE SOFTWARE, I imported my cellphone contacts and then reviewed each contact and it had been imported nearly perfectly into similar fields for the Kindle Contacts program. And a person can add new fields to any individual contact in the program from a fairly-large list of pre-defined fields. That really impressed me, besides the incredibly simple, intuitive, fast functionality with so few keystrokes on my Kindle Keyboard. The software saved me hours and hours of time I would have had to spend entering contacts and editting contacts. And the EXPORT feature makes a super fast backup I could use to then import into this software or most any other computer contacts-software if I ever need to recover my data. I AM REALLY IMPRESSED WITH THIS CONTACTS PROGRAM.

I finally decided I needed to go electronic instead of lugging around my daytimer when I travel. It has space for all the available information: names, multiple phone numbers, addresses, and miscellaneous information. It has a good search feature to bring up who you are looking for. I have been plugging my contacts, names and addresses one by one into this app, so I cannot comment on importing a vfile. If you plan to do that you may want to read other reviews.

My one little quibble is that it sorts all of the entries by the first letter. I had already entered a dozen or so when I discovered my list was alphabetized by first name rather than family names. So, if you want your list alphabetized by last names you have to put the last name in before the first name.

I use this contacts program to back up my phone and online info, and this is a nice way to store information on a secondary database. Two things keep me from giving it a perfect five stars. It needs to have categories such as Family, Business, Friends, etc. and although it does have an adding a field option, its a pre-canned field and you can't create your own. It would be nice to have a field creation of your own choice.

Aside from that, this program for a mere buck is great and can actually save lots more money as a back up database, and is convenient to use when you need to locate someone's info. I recommend it to everyone.

This is a pretty good contacts program, at least from what I can see so far. Importing contacts is as easy as saving a VCard file to a folder on your Kindle- simple! I like having my contacts on my Kindle in addition to my phone, especially when I'm going to use my Google Voice number on my personal cell- it is easier to look up the phone number elsewhere than on my phone, and I don't have to jot it down now to call it with my Google Voice. So that is a good way to use this program. I imported all of my contacts from Google Voice too, and it only took a few seconds to import more than 400 contacts. I'd say it's a good back up and a nice addition to Kindle Active Content.

I have been looking for a way to have my contacts with me when out and about, I use the calendar already and schedule my mothers doctors appointments and it's great, now I have a good contact list with me all the time. And it was easy to set up, and it easy to use and read. I highly recommend this program for the Kindle.
