The one critique I had about the book is about the claim of being based on hard "science". Many of the science quoted came from Psychology and mathematical economics. There are many supporting biological sciences that could've been used. When describing supporting sciences, its always good to find a variety of scientific fields. This book would hold more weight if it used supportive material from "cutting scientific" research in evolutionary biology, neurological network analysis, or even epigenetic cross species relationships.
At the end of the day we're only human and our motivations are governed by our need for survival. Framing the STEPPS in this manner would give marketers a better understanding about how to approach communicating their ideas and products.
