It may not be the book for big organizations who are doing everything right and may need specific ways to grow even further but this is a great book not just for beginners but also for those who are going into a marketing role whether it is a big organsiation or a small one.
Also for a book written a few years ago, the ideas and contents are still quite relevant.
I do not agree with the 1 star review under this book that she keep referring you to her website, I haven no idea what her blog or website is until.I looked for it myself. However, she gives plenty of references to other material as any good book would.
What is more important is identifying how big or small your business already is and what kind of marketing you are doing.
But even if you have been using content marketing for a while, there are still some tips and ideas that will come in handy for improvement.
Overall, so far this book is serving the purpose I bought this book.
- It approaches content marketing in a new and refreshing way for nonprofits
- It is interactive via its discussion sections that can help you bring Miller's advice to life in your organization
- It has great tables, definition bubbles, and summary figures to help you understand what was said
- It follows Miller's past book, The Nonprofit Marketing Guide, perfectly
There is only one thing I find to be a problem with the book...
- It is a dense read in the beginning. Miller warns us about that, but I still found it hard to get through. The information is important, but it's also pretty boring. In her defense, Miller does make up for it by making the rest of the book very worthwhile.
Regardless of the negative qualities I and others are saying about the book, it is worthy of your time and purchase regardless. Give it a shot. I bet you will not regret it.
