From the manufacturer
For the past 12 years, we have put creating innovative solutions at the forefront of everything that we do. It all began with an idea to eliminate spills with a coffee mug that sealed between sips. From there, we engineered a patented technology called Autoseal to deliver on that groundbreaking idea. We received such great feedback that we decided to jump in and start to revolutionize the whole beverageware category (travel mugs, water bottles, tumblers, kid’s bottle, etc.)

Using Your New Water Bottle
-When figuring out what to fill your brand new water bottle with, steer clear of hot drinks/carbonated beverages and stick with cold liquids only.
-When you're on a flight or taking a summer road trip, pressure builds up in your water bottle due to high altitude or really hot temperatures. In these situations, twist the water bottle lid open a little bit to relieve that pressure, then reseal the lid before you use it.
Do's and don'ts.
-We don't recommend carrying filled water bottles in your bag while on-the-go (it's safer for your cell phone this way). Finally, keep your water bottle out of the microwave and the freezer.
- This Contigo stainless steel water bottle is hand-wash only, and the lid is top-rack dishwasher safe. Visit our official website for more care and use information.

This new one is not like that!! It’s the same model I have only a different color, but I put ice in and a few hours later it is gone!! What in the world is going On? The same product should work the same way. If this is the way the new models are performing then I will begin looking for a different brand. The picture shows what ice is left after 2 hours. I had it filled almost to the top. :-(
doesn’t fit in my car cupholders....so it sits on the seat. It’s a wonderful flask but if it were 1/4” slimmer it would fit and probably be only 1” higher. Just a thought
This water bottle is amazing at keeping things cold. I went on a half-day hike in Malibu in the scorching heat and the water was ice-cold even at the end (mind you I had placed ice cubes in the bottle, but still!). It's stylish and very ergonomic. Now I'm pretty sure there are other products as good. BUT other products as good are super expensive. I haven't seen such a great insulated water bottle for such a low price. In that respect, this product is unique. Highly recommender. However need to know one pointer before your purchase:
This product is not made for hot liquids so if you think you might need it for that purpose do not buy this. I made the mistake of putting hot tea a couple of times and the plastic lid at the top is now somewhat deformed which resulted in leaking.. but oh well, they do say it's not for hot liquids so I guess it was my fault here.
Overall a great buy and I would buy more of these!
Well, I'm not a big fan of this one.
I mean, who of great thirst wants to reach for their water bottle only to have to re-grip it awkwardly and press a tiny button, then suck their beverage of choice through a small rectangular hole? You? Really? Okay, then buy the thing. Yes, I realize pressing the button is technically easier than unscrewing a traditional top, or even possibly flipping a flip-top. But the thing is, with those designs, I only have to do it once, set the thing on my desk, then drink freely all day.
Now, if your argument is the water bottle is intended for use on horseback, or perhaps camelback, or in a dune buggy -- then sure, you may have a point. But to put on a desk, or table, or in your SUV console, or the treadmill -- no need for this newfangled technology.

The only real negative that I have so far is that when i put liquid into it it kept dripping out of where the lid meets the bottle and the lid is definitely on so i'm not quite sure what's up. I'm going to give it a couple more days to see if it keeps doing it. I'm thinking that maybe i just didn't keep the threading dry enough.
I will update later.
