From the manufacturer
For the past 12 years, we (the passionate and meticulous employees at Ignite USA) have put creating innovative solutions at the forefront of everything that we do. It all began with an idea to eliminate spills with a coffee mug that sealed between sips. From there, we engineered a patented technology called Autoseal to deliver on that groundbreaking idea. We received such great feedback that we decided to jump in and start to revolutionize the whole beverageware category (travel mugs, water bottles, tumblers, kid’s bottle, etc.) In 2014, we were acquired by Newell Brands and we continue to develop innovative solutions for everyday needs.
The SnapSeal Byron Stainless Steel Travel Mug
Your everyday companion — Snap to it with Snapseal! This larger-capacity travel coffee mug works hard so you don't have to — just snap the tumbler lid open and closed so it's sealed shut (and leak-proof!) when you're done sipping. Enjoy a hot cup of joe up to 7 hours after you poured it with select models, thanks to THERMALOCK vacuum insulation.

The Contigo Limited Lifetime Guarantee
We’re extremely proud to stand behind the design, quality, materials and workmanship that goes into every Contigo product. We go to great lengths to create the best product that we can and then we back that excellence with the Contigo Limited Lifetime Guarantee. Covers the following:
Mugs, Bottles, Replacement Lids.
Purchased in the US and Canada.
Using Your New Travel Mug
-Careful! Your freshly brewed coffee might be very hot. Let it cool down with the lid off for a few minutes before attaching the lid and heading out the door, and keep the hot coffee out of the reach of children (kids shouldn't drink coffee anyway).
Do's and don'ts.
- We don't recommend carrying filled travel mugs in your bag while on-the-go (it's safer for your cell phone this way). Also, keep your travel mug out of the microwave and the freezer.
- Contigo travel mug lids and any unpainted stainless steel bodies are top-rack dishwasher safe for a quick, easy clean. Painted stainless steel bodies are hand wash only. Visit our official website for more care and use information.

Update: I had to lower from 5 stars to 3 as the quality of Contigo has gone down. This is the second insulated bottle I buy, as the first one was lost at the airport after a year of usage. This new one, after only 6 months has already lost the clear lacquer on the top metal part and showing some rust (the brown arrow shows the area). Also the rubber part wasn't glued as well as my first bottle and the gap has a tendency to get dirty and rusty (white arrow). And finally, the lacquer is also starting to peel on the bottom part (red arrow).
These are all esthetic faults. I hope Contigo is aware of the lower quality and trying to fix it. If you don't care about any of these details, then you'll be a satisfied customer. It's a very well insulated bottle and the price is right. (I also like the fact that I can leave the flap open to cool down my hot drink. I use this bottle every morning and every time I travel. I bring myself some tea bags and all I need is some hot water during my flights. Very convenient.)
Hoping this review helps you.
Purchased two of these:
- the steel grey one for my husband - he likes the color (and also has the same issue with the locking mechanism, glad I'm not alone on that!)
- the pinkish one for me - the color is perfect. Not too girly, gives a little pop of color. Almost like a raspberry color? Big fan.
As some of the others have mentioned, the lip on the lid is wider than on most travel mugs. It takes a little getting used to. My suggestion is to keep to small sips until you get used to drinking from this mug.
The biggest plus, in my opinion, is this mug doesn't leak. If you close the "Snapseal" lid you can carry this mug sideways, turn it upside down, or whatever, and it won't even drip.
If you're pouring from a carafe, there's no problem... but, at least the 20oz size, won't fit under a single cup coffee maker, or even a full size commercial Bunn serving spout. I have to pull the Bunn out to the edge of the counter in order to get my cup under the serving spout. Not a major issue for me, but something you may want to keep in mind, if this may pose a problem for you.
