I really wanted to address what one of the other reviewers stated about the “failure” of design and “dangerous” lid. I totally disagree. I actually love the small well that is in the lid. It allows the natural forming of your lips when you drink. I have never had any leftover liquid remain in the lid (and I’ve used this cup for over a year). Maybe I just release the button a split second before I tip the cup back – I don’t know as it’s very natural whatever I’m doing. But, I have never felt this cup was dangerous. And, no leaking.
-The temperature stays the way it started for hours – whether hot or cold
-Easy to clean
-Small well in lid allows for natural drinking
-Looks nice – in the picture it seems that the purple is two-tone. It’s not, there are 2 plastic strips on top and bottom to protect the stainless - these are removed.
-Durable – the mug I’ve had over a year still looks great – just has very minor scratching on the bottom. No dings seen anywhere (and I’ve pretty much abused this mug – throwing in back of car, leaving it in my purse, etc.)
-Fits under many single serving coffee makers (Keurig)
-Easy to clean - dishwasher safe and lid can be "opened" to allow for hand cleaning.
-Fits in the cup holder of our 3 vehicles (Fusion, F150, and Mercedes)
Cons: None that I see
Oh, the hot and cold thing? Amazing. Hot coffee is still hot hours later, and iced is the same.
If I had any complaint it would be that the purple mug ("mine") cannot go through the dishwasher without risking the loss of color. Not a deal-breaker for me because I drink my coffee black anyway, and believe in seasoning a mug with layer upon layer of old coffee. But you should be aware in case the dishwasher is a big deal for you.
Contigo has made the tops of the mugs easier to clean. Actually, it was relatively impossible to clean a few years ago but they have now made it possible (rather than easier).
The only negative I can think of is that you have to be careful pressing that button for the first time after filling it. Sometimes the pressure causes it to spray. So don't put your face next to it if you are pressing the button right after putting fresh hot coffee in it.

I dislike the fact that I need to keep pressing the button to open the sipping hole.Read more
