This short novella has the right elements: an interesting story (a story about a rich CEO that loves to have extra curricular activities with his assistant);
hot steamy scenes (in the office, on the desk, on the floor, bathroom LOL enough said!);
likeable characters (reserved alpha male Xander and sweet natured Bella) and best of all an epilogue with a HEA.
If you are familiar with the author's books, note that this novella though super hot, is a bit more vanilla and mainstream then her previous books. I personally loved this aspect of the novella.
I loved this book, however, I would have loved to have seen the following too:
1. Perhaps an extra chapter outlining Xander's point of view (I would have loved to have better understood his actions, getting into his head would have been fun and interesting) and
2. A full fledged book -- what I mean is, the book is 8 chapters long with an epilogue, sufficient enough to develop this story, however, I can so picture/see this book as having the potential to be longer... wishful thinking on my part!
Yes, it's short (novellas are), but it was just enough time to get the whole story and fall in love with the characters. Nothing was missing and the story wasn't rushed at all. I loved this story! Did it leave me wanting more? HELL YES it did. I loved these characters. I want more more more of these two.
Once again Ella masters making you feel what the characters experience. I was able to feel Bella's hurt and disappointment, but most of all her strong feelings toward Mr. Pettifor. I found myself turning the pages so fast because I couldn't wait to find out how the "misunderstandings" would play out.
These characters are so wonderful I would have loved this to be a full length novel. I want to know about the time between when Bella was hired and what ultimately happens in Continental Breakfast. Plus, I think Ella spoiled me with the dual POVs in the Art of D/s series so of course I'd love to have that with Bella and Mr. Pettifor.
Ella has created another pager-turner with endearing characters!

Mr. Pettifor's and Ms Darcy's relationship in terms of BDSM is based primarily on dominance. There is little to no impact-play and as such I would characterise the BDSM as light. While Mr. Pettiford introduces Ms Darcy to BDSM-sex she is naturally submissive (in bed) and this their relationship does not have strict rules, safe words, or contracts. You might think this would mean that their relationship is reckless, but it's quite mild and follows guidelines which both enjoy. It could be characterised as a romance with a solid BDSM foundation. There are plenty of hot scenes, but ultimately it's really about the characters and them falling for each other.
Ms. Darcy is not a meek submissive: she is a seductress and a strong woman. When she discovers Mr. Pettiford's attention has been drawn elsewhere she acts fast and admirably takes exactly what she wants from her boss sexually. I can say that the book was somewhat confusing as you only have the perspective of Ms. Darcy and so Mr. Pettiford's actions can seem careless and stupid. However, this is addressed in the sequel where the story is told from his perspective.
I will be rereading this book :)
