Review

"An explosive, deeply personal love story." -- RT Book Reviews, 4 star review

"Fifty Shades of Grey was my first introduction to the BDSM lifestyle, but I never really connected with the power relationship and the kinky sex.  This is the book I should have read as an introduction... I absolutely fell for this book and couldn't put it down!" -- Kilts and Swords Book Blog

"Ms. Allen's newest series is off to a phenomenal start." -- Five star Goodreads review

"As soulful as it is sexy. This book is everything 50 Shades wanted to be, and wasn't!" -- Five star Goodreads review

People may say, "BDSM romance It's been done. Why read it?" Well why not read it done perfectly beautiful in Allen's "His Contract". From beginning to end, this story gives an intimate look into a dominant's life, his need and his loss and the submissive that renews him.

Jack Archer is a dreamboat, but is still a man that has this pain he's trying to overcome. You want to comfort him one moment and then be on your knees for him in the next. Once he meet the charming and sassy Lilly Sterling, he's a new man and you want to just want to package him and sell him. Tons of money let me tell ya! He's such s real character, with faults and desires and needs and fears. Once he experiences Lilly, there's no going back for him.

And Lilly! Gosh she's my spirit animal. She's intelligent, relatable, and determined. But like all of us at some point, fell for a jerk that crumbled her soul. She's broken when we meet her, but by the end of the book she has transformed into this fierce lionesses that won't take s*** from anyone, not even Jack when he loses his damn mind thinking he's doing the right thing but isn't because he's cray and..... I'm sorry. It's still fresh to me. Lilly handled it well and I was quite proud of her. I fell in love with her and almost forgot about Jack. Almost.

Add in an amazing group of supporting characters with their wit and sarcasm, and you have yourself a fantastic read. I'm already reading this book and in sure you will too.

This was a really great book. A tender love story about 2nd chances and learning to love again. It had a good plot with a "did he or didn't he" legal issue that brought together most of the major characters. What I loved about this book was that the people were so real. Very relatable and likable. The BDSM was mild and the sex was HOT!! What a pleasure it was to read such a well written, perfectly edited book. This was my first book by this author and I will be looking at reading more. I really hope that there is a 2nd book in this series. ~ JULE K. ~

4 Stars – 3 Flames

Wow! I wasn’t really sure if I was going to like this after reading the Epilogue, but man, I’ve got to say that I really liked this one. It wasn’t your typical Dom/Sub relationship, nor was the storyline. No. This felt, real. Like this is someone’s real life story being told.

Lilly is a true submissive, through and through. Even after she escapes an extremely unhealthy BDSM relationship, she struggles to find herself and where she belongs. Jack, a widower who is still grieving after a year, has no choice but to embrace his dominance in order to “help” Lilly come to terms with who she really is and what she really wants. Blah Blah Blah…you get the idea. You’ve read the blurb, but here’s what you didn’t read yet…

The struggle to love again after losing a spouse is hands down one of the hardest things, ever. Adding the element of a Dom/Sub relationship is just hammering in a few extra nails in the coffin. So when Jack offers to help Lilly with her demons, it wasn’t a stretch that Lilly looks just like his wife but younger. That may have been the ONLY way he would have even considered an agreement to dominate again.

Being young and naïve go hand in hand. So when Lilly is taken advantage of by an older dominate, it’s not surprising, right? The other non-surprising piece? He wasn’t even a good dominant. He made multiple mistakes with “teaching” her BDSM and left her completely scared. Yet, she remained curious enough to not give up on the lifestyle she was so drawn to.

It’s for these reasons that I feel in love with this book. It’s more than a story; it’s a journey. We get to read how Jack and Lilly help teach other how to love again, how to except who they are and most importantly how to become whole again.

His Contract by Rebecca Grace Allen is a standalone with a happily ever after. It is book one in the Legally Bound series. This story is about widower and Dominant Jack, and heartbroken submissive Lilly. This story is about second chances and finding love…again. Many authors write about BDSM but not many do such a great job of expressing the feelings involved in the relationship of the dominant and submissive.
Rebecca Grace Allen decides to bring out the big guns right from the prologue, making me use my tissues right away and hoping my own heart will be healed along with Jack’s. Other emotions were brought out while reading this book like anger, hope, love, more tears. The moment Jack and Lilly meet I wanted to cheer for them. I could feel their hearts wanting to be together and then later I wanted to yell at Jack for letting Lilly leave and to yell at Lilly for leaving. Luckily I did understand why they both did what they did, my heart still hurt for them but I held out hope that they would find their way back to each other.
“He kissed her like she was air, his everything, the only thing he needed to survive.”
This story has many people wanting acceptance from those they love but fear of being shunned and ignored has them keeping quiet.
“Gay or straight, Dominant or submissive, old or young—it’s all the same thing. It’s all people, and the different ways we care about one another.”
This applies to Nick with his mother, Lilly with Nick, Jack with Josh.
Rebecca Grace Allen writing is very good and draws the reader right into the story. So I am looking forward to reading about Lilly’s best friend, Cassie, and Jack’s best friend, Patrick. They had a little tension during this story, just enough for me to want more for them. I wouldn’t mind reading about Nick and Gabe or even Jack’s son Josh.
