Really loved this series in Season 1. It was smart, interesting and had great character development. The backstory was poignant and well done. Season 2 was good but strayed a bit into soap land. Still enjoyed it and it kept me guessing. Season 3 has totally deteriorated and feels as if I've gone back 30 years to Days of Our Lives. In my opinion, it's just lost its way and the characters have become caricatures. And what happened to Emily/Amanda clearing her father's name? I understand that the idea is she's lost her way and it's all about 'revenge' now... but the heart of the story - the essence that brought me back every week is gone. I'm bored of the drama for the sake of drama. Most frustrating of all is watching Nolan - my favorite character - reduced to a naive guy who always gets taken advantage of. I must say that if you enjoy soaps, you might like this and find it highly entertaining. I just am having a tough time watching anymore.

The story is ridiculous. The dialogue is sometimes laughable. The clothes and scenery are gorgeous . I can' t stop watching and I haven't a clue why

This show was great, but it has slowly turned into a depressing daytime soap. The Emily who was in control has turned into someone else and there are so many storylines it gets confusing. Emily & Jack are contantly going through ups & downs, and now Aiden too. Victoria is making us sympathize with her and it seems Emily is turning into the old Victoria. There's no hope for happiness or peace or success in her quest anymore and no one I'm rooting for 100% because all the characters are so screwed up now with loyalties in so many different directions. I'm a dreamer though and there is still a small hope within me that either Aiden, Nolan, or Jack will be able to help Emily out of this chaos. It's the only reason I keep watching.

I liked it at one time but now in the 3rd season I feel like the writers are at a loss where to take the story. It has twists and turns just for the sake of keeping the story going and not stalling. I feel like they sit around a table at the last minute to decide what crazy twist to come up with. That;s what probably happens to a series after a while: how long can a story go on before the iniial purpose has dried up. But now it seem that we are watching a circus of silliness.

Hooked from Pilot through most recent episode, it would be hard for me to dismiss this program and any season. Just as I've thought they've worn out the storyline, they come in with new angles, sometimes characters, to make the primary targeted goals of Emily Thorne seem plausibly ready to pay. The cast is both beautiful and yet each, perfect for their parts. Surprises come and go. Occasionally one may feel the predictability of a circumstance's outcome, but I suggest they are never quite 100% accurate at how it plays out.

Sometimes the ruthlessness of the revenge startles me, often times the revenge is sweet because Thorne simply creates the mode by which the target has no choice but to be exposed, while still not yet having exposed her. The monkey wrench to the plan appears in season 4, but it's worth magnet ting there... Oh yes, each week I ask can Emily Thorne meet her goals?

That there is death, violence, betrayal is why I have titled this review so. None of what Thorne is doing is plausible in life.

I am hooked on this show! my daughter (22) and I agree this is our favorite show on TV currently. Every week I look forward to seeing how the characters develop and who she chooses for revenge. Not at all what I expected in a pleasant way. The only thing I am not sure of is how long this show can go, does it have a set end date because a show like this reminds me of an extended mini series since it will have to finish at some point. I hope the writers have taken that into account as this show needs a conclusion to make it a perfect show. Hopefully others agree about this show so that its not cancelled before its time. I recommend everyone try to see this (and to watch the first episodes for the background)

Revenge is my #1 favorite show on television, and I've been watching it faithfully every week since it premiered 3 years ago. Then why am I giving it only one star you ask? Almost every one of the last several episodes here in Season 3 has included parts where re-recorded bits of spoken audio are clumsily spliced into the scenes during post-production, as if the show's producers are delusional enough to think no one will notice. This latest episode 12 for instance, the phrase Victoria utters at around the 14:05 mark is a perfect example. "That's why it's my duty, not yours, to expose Emily Thorne" right after she slaps Patrick (if you're watching on Amazon, it's at minus -28min 57sec). The audio, voice timbre, and background noise is completely different than the rest of the scene, and it's painfully EMBARASSINGLY obvious that this bit of dialog was artificially added in after the fact, like some sort of badly-done attempt at crude post-production, by an amateur editing company who's never done this sort of thing before. This baffling lack of quality is something that ABC Studios should've caught & fixed months ago - yet it keeps happening, episode after episode! This will be my last season watching "Revenge" until they get some audio/production people who know what the heck they're doing. Shame on Temple Hill Productions & Page Fright Co for not exercising better quality control over their product!
