Interesting collection of interviews with Greene ranging over many years. Many of the same questions come up again and again, but the interviewers also attempt to tackle their subject in different ways. Much of the material has been regurgitated in biographies of Greene, but I for one prefer to read it in this format, as exchanges between a writer and a journalist (or another writer). Not essential, but enjoyable for anyone interested in Greene's life and work.

Graham Greene is a rarity among contemporary intellectuals. He is a believing committed English Roman Catholic full of understanding of men and their situations in that mess we call present life. Anyone who wishes to get a flavor of how remarkable a man he was, would do well to read "Conversations with Graham Greene". charles gorodess
