Since I had a 10A 12V supply and a power strip full to overflowing with 5V wall warts of various capacity I thought I'd try this.

Got this item, a spool of wire and some DIY micro USB plugs and bussed them all together which solved my problems quite neatly.

Now I have my power strip back and enough umph not to have to worry about the capacity of the various wall warts. Wiring is still messy, but having the power strip back makes me happy :-).

I dont use these in any normal fashion. I use these for LED projects where I have issues with voltage drop. My current project needs are calling for 5vdc, however I am only able to use one power supply and at 40', there is no way I could use one 5v supply. I am pushing 24vd to multiple units that are spread out throughout the project and have have 5.1v at each location. Will definitely use again and then again after that.

Works great, I used it for dash cam that I didn't want to plug into cigarette lighter. I tapped into the 12vdc lighter line and used this to step down the voltage to 5vdc which is what the camera needed. All wires are now concealed.

These seem great so far. Construction looks and feels very good. Plastic is hard but not brittle; epoxy filled for sealing. One of my roles as an engineer is managing all of our engineering test equipment. I've bought two of these to supply power to 0-5V pressure transducers. My calibrated Fluke 73 reads 13.84 VDC input to both, 5.07 VDC output on one, and 5.09 VDC output on the other. I haven't connected the converter output to an oscilloscope, but I have connected the sensor output to the oscilloscope and it's steady. One of these has been out to the field a couple times and has some good scratches and dings on it but no detectable reduction of function.

If I ever need another 5V power converter, I would buy this again.
