For the price and the amount of tools you obviously can't expect some amazing high quality set but at the same time I expected a bit better than what I got. Major downside if you are buying this for keeping pans from scratching is that it has a wire whisk. The bamboo pieces feel solid but at the same time you can clearly see .. perforations? not sure what else to call them. Some of the pieces also feel quite rough. With all of that said.. for the price it is a solid buy.

If you are an amateur home chef (like myself) these will suit but will annoy you a little. I can make them work for now but this is by no means a long term set.

*Update 4/19/2012*

Reason for update is one of the pieces is already splitting straight down the handle. A bit frustrating to me considering the material that one would break this soon. Will definitely spring for a better set next time.

I wish that the product had come with a non-metallic whisk. From the photo you can tell it comes with a wirewisk, it is, however, a lament.

Otherwise, the product appears much more plain than the image would suggest. It is not inferior, it just is not as pretty as it can be. It feels that the box is a bit too large, however, you may find that a blessing in-so-much as you can add extra utensils.

The mallet should be metal, the bamboo one does not function as well as my old metal one.

There's weird glossy/waxy layers on these utensils. I don't want to cook with it, gross. So I returned it.

Just go to Crate & Barrel and get their bamboo set. I think it cost maybe $20 for a ton of utensils. Their bamboo is smooth and free of waxy layers.

if you're asking yourself if its worth it, like I was a few years ago... yes it is! Its chillin in my kitchen now! and I use them every day multiple times a day. I sanded the bottom of the Utensils and dipped them in solid colors of paint. and dipped the bottom of the bamboo container in white. The tongs did split eventually, but I think that's the only problem I've had thus far.

The base is really nice and convenient. The solid wood utensils have lasted a while but every piece with a rubber top came apart almost immediately. Still a good buy for the price and is very nice to look at on the counter.

I use on a daily use. I put them in the dishwasher as well. They haven't fell apart or shredded in my food. I have also added more to my collection. The holder has room for more. I would definitely recommend.

I bought this set to get away from cooking with so many plastics and rubbers (chemicals). I love the diversity of the set. The quality is good, too. My only dislike is the rubber parts that come on the brush and spatulas. They come off easily. The tub that came with it spins, which is useful, but is also a little wobbly. I have a different wood scheme going in my kitchen, so I threw all of the tools in a different container and will use the tub elsewhere. Over-all, you're getting a lot of pieces for a small price.

The stuff came so quickly and its exactly what I expected. Couldn't be more thrilled. I was even really excited to learn that its got a built in lazy susan on the bottom so it spins with ease. Thank you so much.
