I Like design, good for price, bit small flaw with me first go round

I have been wanting a set of scoops for same size doughs, batters, etc. I really wish I could give 5 stars as to I have never needed to return anything to amazon in all the years I have been a customer of theirs. First of all as in regards to how quickly I received the product I give a 5 stars, quality it feels nice and heavy in the hands 5 stars as well but where it lacked with me was when I put the smallest scoop in my cookie dough the small metal piece that helps to release the dough got stuck in the middle.

You get 3 scoops in the set. I appreciate the size of all 3, however since I had an immediate flaw I am grateful for the ease of use in returning the product for a replacement. I am unsure if the same flaw exists in the 2 others since they were unused

My suggestion to the manufacturer is if somehow they could make small adjustments so you can easily fix the little flaws that one may experience. Although technically not a big deal it was alittle ackward that I had to constantly slightly squeeze the handle for the metal swing to go down and even with that it did not release the cookie dough. I had to manually use my finger to release it. Unfortunately for me the very first scoop is when it went awry.

My replacement is due to come tomorrow so I will update again and hopefully have a better outcome

As with most things, you get what you pay for and these are noticeably less smooth and durable to their higher-end counterparts. They are solid enough for cookie dough but they do not work with ice cream as advertised (at least not ice cream straight out of the freezer). The biggest issue, though, is that gears are very sticky. You basically need to pry the handles apart once you squeeze them together. I hope they will loosen up over time but I would not recommend these to someone who would be using them a lot. Your hand will get tired. It makes cleaning a bit trickier as well but they washed nicely in the dishwasher so no real complaints there. The sizes are good, a useful assortment. Though the gears are sticky, the scoop does release the dough cleanly and fully once disengaged. If you plan to just use them occasionally and not with ice cream, they are a decent product for the price. If you are an avid baker, I'd spend the extra to get the higher-end ones.

I love these! I love making cookies, but drop cookies always eluded me because I could never get the portion correct. These scoops solve that problem. The smallest one is perfect for Russian teacakes (just make sure you flatten them slightly, when I put them on my tiered cooling rack they started to slide/roll off!) and the middle one was perfect for those tubs of Tollhouse cookies dough.* There is a little gear or sprocket at the bottom which helps it collapse properly when you want to release the dough, and it feels very solidly put together. And everything comes out so uniform! Definitely get it before your next Christmas cookie baking day!

*HOWEVER--they can be a little sharp on the edges, and depending on the "scoopable" dough you use, it can be hard to scoop. For tollhouse cookie dough in the tub, I had to cut it with a knife and make small scoops til it was full. That's less an issue with the scoop itself that with the dough, but I wanted to mention it.

These are great for portioning out cookie dough and getting consistent cookie size. I haven't used them for anything else yet, so don't know about real frozen ice cream, etc. as to durability. Easy to clean under hot running water. One did have the gear come loose from the ratchet that slides the cookie dough out of the scoop, but it was an easy fix. Would recommend for anyone who bakes a lot. I think they would also be good in measuring batter for cupcakes. UPDATE: the ratchet keeps slipping each time I use the product. I recommend buying a better quality. The time I save in portioning, I lose when I have to stop and fix the scoop.

I was happy to get these stainless steel scoops at a good price. I was disappointed when I opened the package to find that the weight was so light. The steel is THIN. The edges of the scoops are not buffed and are sharp - an easy cut finger accident waiting to happen. 2 of the 3 scoops arrived new out of the package with the sprocket strip bent instead of straight. Will be usable but overall a disappointment. Cheap quality and no quality control in evidence.

I bought these to make bath truffles, a soft dough similar to cookie dough. I used the small one to begin with and loved it, so I wanted to try the medium and large sizes for a different batch. I got 2-3 out of the medium one before the spine that aids the dough in breaking away from the scoop was out of place out in front of the scoop. I tried to adjust it, but I don't even know what happened for that to happen. I just went on with the smaller scoop. I then tried the large one and had gotten about 4 out of that one before the same thing happened. I tried to adjust it back to where it should be, but no luck. I suppose I will continue to use the small one, but I will probably have to end up buying a bigger, better quality scoop.
