CookinPellets 40PM Perfect Mix Smoking Pellets
Grill Cleaning Block
No chemicals, no smell, works on all grills! Cleans the worst!
Perfect Mix Pellets are made from the 4 top smoking woods
The Perfect Mix is a Hickory base with Cherry, Hard Maple and Apple. We only use heart woods (center of the log) to make our pellets, never any bark. Bark has twice the Lignin (a natural binder and fuel source) so more heat and more ash when used in pellets. Plus we never , ever use oils or filler woods like oak or alder. Great for short cooks or long smokes!
Our 100% Hickory is Just that!
You'll not find a better pellet for taste, great smoke flavor and value. We never, ever use oils or filler woods like oak or alder. Long smokes , 6 hours plus, can get quit smokey when using our 100% Hickory pellet.

Lightly smoked steak.
I always smoke/cook to internal temp. We used our Perfect Mix.
That is one big O'l bird. 12 pounds Turkey
Again finished to a certain internal temp. You can see that rat tail thermometer I used. Again we used our Perfect Mix pellets.
Super juicy brisket.
Hint: The last hour I put in and tented the aluminum foil and added about 1.4 cup of liquid, anything wet, and wow super juicy.

One note, these do leave a fair amount of ash. After a very long smoke, I vacuum out the ash before smoking anything else. The amount of ash is same as BBQ Delight pellets.
One bad thing about these pellets. The shipping. They come in a cardboard box which is very snug with the plastic bag. If you use scissors to open the box you will cut the plastic and need to put the pellets in a container.
too bad at my second bag of these around 60% i smelled something i thought my grill internals are burning but when i opened the pallet container i saw the same thing few pieces with "big" pieces of blue plastic in them.
needless to say wont order any of these again no matter how good and cheap they are....(two bad i ordered two last time i still got one)
These were genuine concerns of mine as some people like to smoke and then crank it up for reverse searing. Some people want to use their grills as an all purpose smoking, grilling and baking apparatus. These pellets may not be all purpose and might not work very well at high altitudes. I however, did not experience any problems getting temperature to 475* at sea level. Even if I couldn’t get the temp up, I would not be dissatisfied as that’s what I was expecting and had the Weber on standby just incase.
Not all pellet grills are created equal mainly due to there controller and construction. These pellets produced great smoke at 225 and great taste…Not oversmoked.
These pellets were used in a Grilla Grill Silverbac
Update 8/5/17: THESE PELLETS ARE NOT FOOD SAFE!
Originally I gave 4 stars. But after finding a pellet with blue plastic imbedded in it, I chose to update my original post.
Since the plastic is imbedded in the center of the pellet…I don’t feel comfortable using these pellets as I might not be able to visually spot hidden plastic through a thorough inspection.
I read that someone in the past had this problem and the manufacture shut down production and found the cause. Obviously they either didn’t recall the bad batches or the problem is back.
Not only do I have to throw these pellets away, I have to throw away 6 small batches (10lbs each) that I mixed these pellets with to create a different taste profile!
Aside: Replaced the standard temperature control module with this one: "Digital Thermostat Kit for Traeger Grills by Ortech" (search for it here on Amazon) and the grill maintains temperature much better than with the original unit. Plus it gives incredible control of the SMOKE setting allowing the speed and duty cycle to be configured.
We have gone through three 40lb bags in just about as many months (what can I say, I love my pellet smoker lol), and have found them to feed evenly, smoke wonderfully and make our smoked meats taste delightful.
Thank you so much!
