I own three cookbooks, and this is the only one I've paid full price for (gift and tag sale), no regrets. I even bought a couple for friends.
It's funny and entertaining along with having recipes with massive portions, so it's perfect for my all-work-no-play lifestyle in that I can make food in one night that lasts for 3 days.
Perfect if you love to cook and you'd like to have more leftovers for lunches and stuff.
The only thing really wrong with this is that most of the recipes are already on his website. I love his recipes and his drawings, but the fact that I can pull out a tablet and do the same thing that 3/4 of this book does is a wee bit whacky.
This makes a great gift for someone who likes to cook or for those college dudes who don't yet know how!
Keep in mind they are very simple recipes, don't expect any advanced techniques. Unlike a lot of other simple recipes he appropriately seasons his food!
I have VERY pleased. A few of the recipes are indeed online but the rest are great, delicious, and easy recipes. I opened the book with the intention of simply thumbing through it and found I read the entire thing in my first sitting with it. It's now 1AM and I'm craving half a dozen different foods. Suffice to say, my shopping list is going to be impressively long tomorrow.
Do yourself, and your family/friends, a favor and buy this book. They'll love you for it and so will your stomach.
As a note, I preordered the book, and it came with a card about the 1 correct to the book. If you have any cooking experience (at all) you could tell the recipe is wrong. Hopefully the book has been reprinted with the correction.
