The Cooking with Trader Joe's Cookbook is one of the best cookbooks I have used, and this is from the point of view of someone who loves to cook and has attended schools of cooking such as Le Cordon Bleu Paris. What I really like about the book is the fact that the recipes are simple, accurate, very practical and yet elegant. It is a different approach to cooking that encourages you to discover new ingredients and enjoy cooking whether it's just for yourself, or your family and friends. It is the only cookbook that I have seen that is basically for all occasions and for every level of cooking. I have tried quite a few of them. I found the dishes healthy and and the same time very delicious. The book also educates you to know and recognize the products at Trader Joe's and how to use them in recipes and your daily cooking. I actually had invited a couple for dinner last night, and with my busy schedule I really didn't have a lot of time to spend on grocery shopping and cooking, but I wanted the dinner to be nice. Early afternoon, I took the book with me and I did all my shopping in one spot, Trader Joe's. That evening I made Crab on cucumber boats as the appetizer and Hello Portobello as the first course. For the main dish I made Mediterranean baked fish, and dessert was Baked Pearfection, light and elegant. Dinner was wonderful and easy, and my guests finished every last bite.
I am amazed of the low price of the cookbook, such a good value. I also know what to give as Christmas presents this year. I usually don't comment a lot but I thought I should share this experience with others.

Just when I think Deana and Wona's cookbooks can't get any better they came out with Dinner's Done!, and make my life even easier than before. The recipes are easy and delicious, the photos are lovely and now there is nutritional info for people who want to know more.
This book will make a perfect holiday gift for people who love Trader Joe's, for those who are new to the store, and for anyone who loves to eat yummy food that is easy to prepare
Thank you for another great cookbook, and also for including a few of my recipes too

I have owned "Cooking with all Things Trader Joe's" (the authors' first cookbook - the original of the TJ's cookbooks genre) for a few years now which I thought was an excellent cookbook - we still use recipes from that cookbook regularly. I was initially excited to see some other copy-cat cookbooks released (like "I love TJ's") which were ok but didn't really stand up to the original, and after buying the 3rd one of these "me-too" type books and not being impressed, I felt like the whole category was starting to go downhill. So when this cookbook was released I kind of assumed it was just more of the same and didn't bother getting one. A family member, knowing how much I liked the original cookbook, gave me one as a present. So since I posted a review of the original, I felt like I should give my two cents on this latest TJ's cookbook.

I guess if I were to sum it up, I would simply say (surprisingly) "excellent again!". This cookbook reminded me of all the reasons why I thought the original was so great. It has a large color picture of *every* recipe, so I know what the dish is supposed to look like when I'm done. The hardcover binding is of high quality and the book stays open on the page that I'm reading on its own (as opposed to some other cookbooks where I have to use my salt and pepper shakers as a paper weights to keep the pages from flipping). They give a time estimate for every recipe which helps me decide if I have enough time to prepare it, and the majority of recipes are still in the 20-30min range. They make good use of TJ's "half-prepped" ingredients and sauces which allow you to whip up a gourmet meal in a fraction of the time it would take if you made all sauces from scratch. They bring out some great TJ's ingredients which I never knew existed.

This cookbook is great. I love the pictures and the nutritional stats. All the recipes I've tried so far have been wonderful (I've made about 6 or 7). I would def recommend this to anyone who loves Trader Joes. The recipes are easy enough for anyone to do and don't take a lot of time. This is great for anyone like me who has to work all day long and doesn't feel like spending all night in the kitchen. Highly recommend this book!

My husband is our unofficial family cook and a TJ's devotee. When I found "The Cooking With Trader Joe's Cookbook: Dinner's Done!" at a local bookstore while shopping for his Father's Day gift, I immediately stopped browsing and headed to the checkout with the book in hand. Indeed, my husband was at least as excited to receive this cookbook as I was to give it, and the book has lived up to our excitement. Not only can every recipe in this book be constructed solely from items found at our local TJ's, which saves us shopping time, every recipe we've made has been excellent. Let's face it, some cookbooks that focus on convenience cooking talk a good game, but fail to deliver recipes that taste as good as they appear on paper. Not this one! The recipes in Dinner's Done are streamlined enough to prepare on a busy weeknight, yet they are sophisticated enough to serve to weekend guests.

If you cook for the kid set, it's good to know that the recipes in this cookbook are family-friendly, yet the book is free of recipes designed to appeal to kids but not their parents. I'm tired of recipes for smiley-face pizzas and endless permutations of mac n' cheese. Though Dinner's Done is mercifully free of such fare, my 5-year-old daughter loves looking at this cookbook. She enjoys picking out recipes which she can assist us in preparing, and she's excited to eat the results. She is a very picky eater, so any cookbook that gets her excited about eating dinner is a winner in my eyes.

If you're looking for a cookbook full of delicious, quick-to-prepare, and healthy recipes that will appeal to the whole family, this is it. I can't recommend this cookbook enough.
