Customers find the fan to work well for cooling and providing good airflow. It works consistently for them, lowering computer temperatures. Many consider it a good value for the price and cheap. The fan is reliable, easy to install, and provides thorough airflow for its size. However, opinions differ on the noise level.
Customers like the fan. They say it works well, has decent air flow, and gets the job done nicely. Some mention it's easy to install and quiet, while others find it louder than expected. The fan is well-designed and pushes a good amount of air for an 80mm fan.

Customers are satisfied with the cooling performance of the fan. They mention it's a good cooling solution for those needing an 80mm fan with a 3 pin connector. The fans drop the temperature of their computer several degrees and are fairly quiet. Installation was easy, and their computer now runs 2x cooler with the extra air circulation. They feel the cool air coming out and consider it a good little fan that holds up to the heat of the electronics they are trying to cool.

I bought these to install in my HTPC. The Silverstone case I bought (despite being excellent in every other regard) has sub-par fans that were too noisy for my taste. I've had good results with Cooler Master fans before, and so this one being inexpensive and rated as relatively quiet, I bought a few. The fan is well designed, and pushes a good amount of air for an 80mm fan. However, it is not as quiet as I would have liked. My fan connections are direct to a molex connector, so I didn't have the option of using the bios to slow down the fan speed. I ended up buying a fan speed controller and setting it to 50% power. Now I have VERY quit fans while still keeping the computer quite cool.
My recommendation is that if you are looking for a very quiet fan, either spend a bit more on a better fan, or invest in a fan speed controller.
Two of these were purchased for an eventual new build using a 10YO ATX customizing case housing an Asus E35M1-M PRO MB + 2 burners + 2 320GB WD HDD-s for use as a backup system. Both were tested using included Molex adapters on a free power connector in another machine and both performed quite well. Air flow is from the solid silver decal side to the labeled side (with the wires), which is useful to know prior to installation. Typical quality PSU fans mask the low noise of these units so sound isn't a problem. Nor is the fan action so enthusiastic that a rheostat for controlling the speed worth considering. Overall these are certainly good units for the price.
I used this as a side intake fan for my desktop. Noticed two changes, on Core Temp my CPU temp dropped about 3-4 degrees Celsius while idling and maybe 4-5 Celsius while under load. This was vs a case with no fans at all (except for the CPU fan of course). Second change was the sound of the fan easily drowns out that of every other noise my computer makes. That's not a horrible thing since some of it was annoying and the fan is a constant whine, but it's definitely pretty loud. I'm going to install a Silverstone fan next that is the same price.
I bought this fan to help cool the new video card that I recently installed. Before installing the fan, the video card was reaching temperatures of up to 85 degrees. After installing the fan, temperatures never go above 53 degrees. However, this fan is very loud. It isn't ridiculously loud but it is loud enough that I have already investigated other fans and will be purchasing one soon.
I have owned two of these fans and the first worked fine without too much noise for over a year. I ordered a second one and it is so loud that I am going to have to replace it. I looked into Cooler Master's warranty and I would have to pay shipping to get it there which would be about the cost of a new fan from Amazon. I'd rather not take the chance with another one so I'm going to purchase something else.
INITIAL REVIEW: Yeah I was screwing in the screws, and the plastic started to crack a little bit, so I had to back out the screws and then re-screw them in & then it was fine. Other than that this thing is silent as a grasshopper.
UPDATE: Upon further review I'm finding that this fan makes a lot of noise. Perhaps there's a way to lower the speed, but my system shows my cpu fan at higher rpm's than this fan, but this fan makes way more noise. In fact it is the only fan I hear in my computer. If I could return this I would.
I bought five of these fans to use in different computers. They are quiet. But, they're flexible enough that you can change their input voltage from 5v to 7v to 12v. The default connectors come with a factory wiring setting of 12v. It was a bit too loud for my taste considering that I had two sitting next to each other. I changed the wiring to 5v and they're quiet.
Performance I have two sitting a couple of inches away from my computer's main hard drive, a WD Black. This hard drive used to get really hot. After installing these two fans, that hard drive is as cool as it is when is not running. Incredible.
There are plenty of instructions online on how to rework the wiring to your liking. Some people, or situations, may require more air than others. So it's a good thing to be able to control that.
I added two of these fans to a small form factor case i'm using for a home media PC... while the fans are definitely quieter than the case's stock fan, they aren't as quiet as I'd hoped. Still, I hardly notice the sound when i'm playing a game or watching a movie. Overall some of the more expensive fans might be your best choice if you want to go for "whisper quiet"; otherwise, this fan is probably good enough.
