I purchased this cooling fan to add to the AV receiver I use in with my TV and speakers. The AV receiver itself has always run a little warm, and I figured that adding a cooling fan would possibly extend the life of the receiver. In addition to the fan, I also purchased a small 12 volt .5A power supply. I wired the two together quickly with some solder and some heat-shrink. The power supply plugs in to the accessory plug on the back of my receiver, so the fan is on only when the receiver is on.

The fan is super quiet. I can not hear it at all sitting five feet away from it when everything else is quiet. The fan is rated for 50,000 hours. That works out to be about 5.7 years of continuous running. I don't run my AV receiver even close to continuously, so I doubt I will ever need to replace this.

Installed on a slim line Rosewill case as the main draw fan, since it is a vertical mount, the rifle bearing is as good as you can get without going expensive ball bearings, and much better than a sleeve bearing; at least according to most bearing manufacturers such as : http://www.nmbtc.com/fans/white-papers/fans_ball_vs_sleeve/ . Install was a breeze it came with the mounting screws and a three pin MOBO to four pin Molex adapter, the cord had plenty of length for those who have a bigger case. One week in and it's much quieter than the stock fan my PC had, no issues. So far I would recommend, but I'll keep you all updated.

Definitely a very, very quiet fan. As other reviewers have stated, the CFM rating is a touch low, but if you're looking for something silent (or close enough!) for your HTPC or server needs, this fan is both the cheapest option AND a great performing one.

I haven't owned it long enough to comment on the rifle bearing, but this fan is replacing a loud, noisy fan that had its bearings fail recently after approximately 1 year of use, so I'm hoping this fan lasts quite a bit longer.

I bought 2 of these fans to fill the 80mm slots on the back of my case (Thermaltake Core V1). I was a bit skeptical about noise at first. 80mm fans don't have the best reputation for quiet operation. However, this fan has completely changed my view on 80mm fans. They are the quietest fans in my case, hands down. They're quieter than the 200mm fan that came with the case. They're quieter than the 92mm fan on my cpu cooler (Arctic Freezer 13, great cooler btw). And they're obviously quieter than the fans on my graphics card. I'm not sure what kind of voodoo they pulled off here, but these fans are amazing AND dirt cheap. 5 stars all the way.

5 stars even though I'm an idiot. The fan is very quiet and blows about as much air as you would expect. The mounting holes are well placed, and the overall construction is just fine. Unfortunately, I realized too late that my case only has 3/4" clearance for the side fan that I was replacing, and this one is an inch thick, so I need to get another one.

I purchased four of these fans for my ATX computer case (two for intake and two for exhaust). They are quiet and work just fine. I am not a gamer so I cannot comment on how these fans would work out if you are a full-out gamer. I'm just a regular guy that likes to build high-end computers occasionally. For my application, they are perfect.

For the price, this was perfect for installing into my Tripp-Lite 1500 SLT that I refurbished with new batteries.

Before I bought the fan, I tried setting the UPS (Uninterrupted power supply) up in my living room, but the noise was unbearable. Even when watching a movie, the fan was much too loud. After some research, I found that an 80mm fan like this could make it quieter. After installing this, the noise is basically GONE. I cannot hear this fan in my living room unless I put my head 2 feet away from the UPS. And even that close, the noise is VERY quiet. With the TV on, it is impossible to hear this new fan.

I can't say how much air this thing moves, but I know that it is enough. But the main reason for buying this was the silent operation and this nails it.

Haven't had it installed in my system very long but it seems to be doing it's job. I needed to replace the 80mm case fan that came with my HTPC case as I thought it was going bad (making very loud noises). Turns out it was my PSU fan making the awful noises, and I didn't really need to buy this. But it's still probably a better fan than the off brand fan that came with my case. In any case, I have a spare now, which isn't a bad thing. The fan seems to be just as quite if not more quite than the case fan it replaced, which is great. So far I have no complaints. It was nice that Cooler Master included a bunch of adapters in the box. I didn't need them, but again it's not bad to have these things just in case that one instance pops up where it could come in handy.
