The keyboard feels mechanical, with each key providing a crisp, tactile feel thanks to Cooler Master's new exclusive Mem-chanical switches. The mouse has features that are normally found in high-priced gaming mice, such as side buttons, bright LED lights, and on-the-fly DPI adjustment. That and the paint on the keys come off so again its a pain for some. Overall: Good Buy
3) Keyboard quality
4) Strong backlighting
1) Mouse is crap
2) Paint on keys came off in less than a month
3) Hard to see the keys before the paint even started peeling off
The keys are definitely much louder than an average mechanical keyboard, but while they do tend to be a little rattly, especially my space bar (which can be a little aggravating at times, the keys are very satisfying and deliver great rebound speed. Do they feel like an actual mechanical keyboard as Cooler Master claims with their "mem-key technology." Close, but not quite there. They definitely need to work on how loud this keyboard is. So if you can't stand those loud keyboards you would use at school, this isn't for you. The backlight is a nice, calming blue which was surprisingly more solid than I thought it would be, however, the light does not shine as well through the keys as mine seemed a little "faded."
The wrist-rest was something I thought was something worth commenting on. Useless. This may be a singular issue for me, since I happen to have larger hands, but my wrist in no way rests on the thing. And if I do, it feels extremely unnatural. The build quality of the board, however, is much better than I thought it would be, and absolutely no flex. It's definitely got some weight to it, and doesn't feel cheap at all. Great quality for the price.
Like I said earlier, I have pretty big hands, so it was a little uncomfortable to grip. Is it very ergonomic? Not really, but it certainly does feel better than an average, everyday mouse. The mouse has some rubber on the sides of the mouse for grip, so that certainly compensated for the slightly unnatural feel of the mouse. There's the usual dpi setting on the top behind the scroll wheel which is pretty much useless for everyday use, but for gaming, I'm sure would be useful if you want to switch to a different sensitivity level to conform to the game you want to play.
Overall, Cooler Master does a fairly decent job of attempting to give you that premium feel for a small budget, but I wouldn't say they're quite there yet.
All in all, this is a phenomenal bargain and great for entry level machines. It isn't the ugliest keyboard and I would recommend it to people not wanting to fork over big $$$ for a cherry switch mechanical keyboard.
