Product Description

Engineered for performance, sized for more surface area for heat dissipation, and equipped with PWM fans for noise control, the Hyper 612 PWM is a silent storm that will keep processors running cool. With PWM the motherboard BIOS and software tuning applications can precisely control the fan speed on the Hyper 612 PWM to ensure that performance is always balanced with noise levels. A special heat pipe layout has all 6 heat pipes crossing CPU "hot spots" to deliver optimum thermal performance.

So I got this because it was an amazing price on Amazon. Looked right past the Hyper 212. This thing cools like its no ones business. My Zambezi 4170 temps are so low its crazy. As I'm typing this I have multiple taps open, music going, skype and some other programs running and its at a cool cool 15C.
People weren't joking when they said it was big, it just BARELY fit into my Antec 900 First Edition.
This thing is super quite. I barely even hear it, infact I'm not even sure if it makes noise.. let me check. Yup case open and don't even hear it. Not even when gaming.
You may want low profile ram though, I use Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866
and they fit with a little room to spare. But you only see one of the sticks of ram, the other is hidden lol.
I love this thing and the way it looks. I would recommend it to anyone who can fit it into their case and was thinking of getting a 212. This thing blows the 212 away in cooling!
Here's my build:
ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX
Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866
EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 v2
Cooler Master Hyper 612 PWM
Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB

I'm overclocking a hot 125v AMD X4 965 to 4.1gHz using the one included fan, and after running prime95 12 hours with no errors the highest temperature reached was a comfortable 57°C in a 22°C room with no other case fans. This cooler works best when used with low to medium profile DDR3 sticks (no high heat fins) and an 8" wide tower position case. it also works great with low voltage Intel "S" or "T" suffix CPUs while fanless, as long as your tower position case has vents on top. It has a simple attractive top view appearance for those of you with case windows. this newer PWM version has a 4-pin fan header so your mobo bios can better control it's rpm. if your case has no top vents consider getting a "Thermalright 120mm Fan Duct" before buying a second pull fan or rear case fan to use opposite the included cooler fan.

Very powerful cooling solution. Great mounting to motherboard, though a bit heavy and large. It will block a ram slot pretty much.
I used a long spring from a hardware store in addition to the standard mounting, to support it at the top, since I live near a freight train rail line, and it rumbles my residence every hour or two. So, with a heavy cooler like this one, I didn't want to worry about that extra
vibration, hence a spring suspension connected via the allen screw on the top of this cooler. Without living near a freight train line, I feel the cooler's mounting is perfectly adequate. I will say, though, ANY large CPU cooler, is often advisable to REMOVE before transporting a PC, say in a bumpy car or to ship it.

Seeing as how after installing this I was able to overclock an Ivy Bridge i7 3770k from 3.5 GHz to a respectable 4.5 GHz on air without batting an eye while achieving perfectly stable system performance, I'm going to have to say this thing is everything it claims to be. And it's quiet. This is the first time I've had a system not sound like an airplane was taking off when I put it under stress. If you're gonna drop a few hundred bucks or more on an overclockable processor, don't skimp on the cooling system. And at this sucker's price point, you don't have to.

Replaced a corsair water cooler (single 120mm radiator version). Started to get ancey since I know they have a fail time on the pumps.

This cooler with two 120mm fans in a full tower lets me overclock my old 1090T to ridiculous levels without any worries about temp.

It is a little tight over the ram slots but fits well so long as they don't have giant heatsinks.

First things first; if you are not building in a full-tower case, this one's not for you. She's huge. (I put one in a Cooler Master Storm Trooper, which is a little smaller than a freight car, and it was still a little close). If size isn't an issue, and you're going to OC a hot processor, than grab one. I am using it with any Ivy Bridge i5, and processor heat is no longer an issue. The chip runs at 80 or 90 degrees F even when pushed. This is the most cooling you can get without going liquid. Second note: make sure to REALLY pay attention to the documentation, as it's pretty small, and there is a lot going on there, since the cooler supports several motherboard configurations. Third, you should use low profile memory, as if your DIMMs are too tall (i.e., with cooling fins) they might hit the cooler. Good luck.

Excellent product, thanks for the delivery time, I never thought it was so huge, I never saw anything like it, but I like it, the only thing is that I have to see if it fits in the case, highly recommended
