I've had it a year now and the power production is stable and strong - no technical worries. However, I mistakenly attributed the huge amount of noise coming from my computer as first the case fans, replaced 'em. Then, the graphics, card. Nope. Now the cpu fan. Not that either. It's the fricken power fan. It makes a monster amount of noise. It has a mid-to-low harmonic machine hum as well as a high frequency whirr that is not only irritating but headache inducing.

Coolmax is supposed to cover these supplies with a two-year warranty but I doubt that it covers horrible, irritating noises. We'll see,
I'm going to ask them.

To be fair, the power production is fine, the price can't be beat and some people like those blue disco lights.

UPDATE ++++++++ A couple weeks later

Coolmax replaced the unit in two day's time. Now it's very quiet. It's the least noisy of all the major internal components. Now I can hear the cpu fan, the graphics fan, and the HDs. I think the Coolmax is even quieter, no it is quieter than the HDs.

I might have blamed Coomax for more of the noise problem than I should have. The graphics fan really creates most of that whir and after some more thorough testing, it seems the low machine hum can be at least partially attributed to the cpu fan.

I'm totally happy with the Price Bros or Coolmax, whoever is responsible for making such a quick replacement, The buyer can't go too wrong with this product and its warranty.

Was hesitant to order this Coolmax PSU through Amazon because the one review here said it arrived DOA, but after reading many good reviews on other sites, decided to order it here due to the free shipping and slightly lower price at the time of sale than other vendors.

Box arrive in good packaging although the PSU box was shrink wrapped, which I am always leary about because it usually means it was refurbished or returned. Contents were complete and no sign of damage from shipping or previous use. Plugged it into current rig to test it as I bough it for a new rig I am building and don't have the mobo yet. Worked perfectly! One thing I did notice that there was a piece of plastic broken on one of the pin guides of the CPU power connector, but this didn't affect anything and powered up just fine. Ran for about 30 minutes before I unplugged it. Will update review when I get it into my new rig and have it running for a decent length of time.

Blue led fan is a nice inclusion and goes with the blue Cooler Master led fans I am putting into the new case.

All-in-all would recommend for budget builds that need a little more power than stock PSUs. Will update review when I get it into my new rig and have it running for a decent length of time.

I traded my ModXStream for this Coolmax, because the ModXStream was just plain screaming loud. This Coolmax is much better. Very quiet operation.

Installation was very easy. Although it's not modular, I did not have a problem with excessive cords. I just ran the extras to the back of the case and hid it all there. In my smaller HP Pavilion a6720y case, the cable lengths were fine. I then moved it to my Silverstone Tek mid tower case, but some weren't all long enough to snake behind the side panel. The longest reach from the bottom back corner to the top front corner was a stretch (I did snake that one), but it all fit in the end. I did not feel the case was overly cluttered with cables, although the look would have been cleaner if they had been a little longer.

There were plenty of connections for all my devices:

* 20+4 pin x1
* 15 pin SATA x4
* peripheral power x4
* 4 pin FDD x1
* PCIe 6 pin x1
* 4+4 pin x1
* PCIe 6+2 pin x1

700 Watts is plenty of power for my 8-core AMD processor, 2 hard drives, GeForce 9800GT GPU, 4 case fans, 1 optical drive, and Gigabyte motherboard. I love it . . . and that little blue LED that tells me all is good.

It works well so far and has the standard amount of connections. My only gripe is that I wish it had a fan on the side to blow hot air out as well. For a brand named "coolmax," that isn't very cool. lol

Works great and runs my system with a lot less heat than my last Power supply. The only thing that kept it from being a 5 was how loud the fan was when it was kicked into high gear. I wear headphones, but noticed the noise through them and it as quite apparent when they were off. Otherwise, it seems to work my system well and without the power surges I was getting from a lesser power supply!

This power supply seemed great for my next budget computer build. Strait out of the box everything looked great and really matched the colour theme of my case. Once I had built the system I started it up and looked at all the fans and the power supply..... Nothing happened a few seconds later the power supply sparked blew up and smoked! Luckily non of the other parts in the system were damaged by this power supply. I will have to buy a new power supply now

Got this in for my new build, every thing works as it should, the blue light is actually very tame and doesnt overly display itself
my only complaint is that the cords were kinda short , had to stretch it a bit to connect the further parts of my mobo but its all connected and not to big of a deal. but would have prefered a litle extra slack and thats why i took off a star
