Respected Name in PSU's
Cables are a little short
Could use more cables
I like this power supply, I mean I gave it 4 stars. It powers my set up nicely (Dual Core, XFX 750i mobo, Dual 9800GTX+ in Sli, 2x500GB Sata Caviar, Sata DVDRW, 5x 120mm fans). I seem to be getting great power to all of my components which are above average for a normal user, but on the mid-range for the gaming community. I like the modular design, and the cables are pretty solid when plugged in to the PSU. I will say however that the cables are pretty short. I have a CM690 II Advance, which is classified as a mid-atx tower, but the PSU left little to no room for cable management.
The motherboard cables could not by any means be run under my motherboard tray (which is specifically designed for this purpose). I in fact had to buy an 8 pin motherboard header extender to be able to reach it at all without going through my video cards...I would also like to have seen a few spare modular cables too. I mean, some people need more molex connectors, some need more sata....ALSO there was only one 6 Pin PCIE Power cable, which obviously was not enough for me so I also had to purchase seperately. I know it's not marketed as an SLI Ready PSU, however I think adding an extra one of those wouldn't have killed CM's profits?? Right???
This is a great power supply, it runs cool and quiet and has enough juice to power a moderate to powerful set-up. In a smaller case you would be able to disregard half of my criticisms, but I think the lack of extra modular cables is pretty universal. Would I purchase it again? Probably, unless I found something else in this price range with better features.
This replaced one that kept killing my mother boards.
Comes with 2 SLI power cables. Not much more to say that it does what its supposed to do.
When I opened the box, I was a little disappointed. There was a piece of paper that directed you to the Coolmax website for reading the manual. The PSU was in a thin plastic bag and the modular cables were held with a wrap tie. The PSU itself felt sturdy enough. The non-modular cables are the motherboard, CPU, and two SATA cables. All of the cables have a nylon wrap, but it looks of inferior quality.
I placed the PSU in my CoolerMaster mid-tower, which has the PSU mounted at the bottom. The motherboard and CPU power cables were not even close to reaching the motherboard when the PSU was properly mounted. When I say not even close, I am talk 2 inches too short. In fairness, if this PSU were top mounted, the cable length should be sufficient. However, this is the first time that I have purchased a PSU who's cables were too short to reach the motherboard. I will return to the higher end PSU.
Things to consider when reading my review is that I did not actually power on the PSU.

Works really well in my mini-itx case. the semi-modular functionality is very useful for a small case. Not very loud. Everything works great.Published on May 16, 2013 by Spence
Not a bad power supply, but, as sometimes happens, I got unlucky and had a crap one that needed to get returned. I haven't had problems with Coolmax in the past, so, three stars.Published on May 7, 2013 by Aubrey
The reason I got this is for the short and modular cables. Works great in my Mini ITX case =)Published on March 19, 2013 by John Matrix

This is a very good power supply for the money. Could use more modular cables, but was perfect for my system and I didn't need to spend an arm and a leg to get it. Read morePublished on October 12, 2012 by Brian from MS
