Well, timing is everything... and isn't always fair. Had I not just completed reading The Hardness Factor before picking up "Coping With Erectile Dysfunction," I would probably have given this book 5 stars.

Metz and McCarthy have done a very good job of showing us the causes of erectile dysfunction along with some fixes (mainly using sexual awareness to overcome the problem).

I've been using the methods in this book, The Hardness Factor, and Exercising the Penis to build up the strength of my erections. All books have contributed to me overcoming the problem. This book, however, is best from the psychological stand point. If you suffer at all in this area, I suggest getting it.

this book is more from a psychological standpoint of a man. if your looking for something to help you understand premature ejaculation or impotency from a mans point of view its a good book. If your looking at it as a spouse looking for answers then it's a fair book but really doesn't offer the proper solutions.

Together with Hard As a Rock: 5 Things that Cured my Erectile Dysfunction, this is probably the best book out there.

McCarthy and Metz, two highly respected MDs, explore the myths surrounding ED. The value of the book lies in the psychological insights they provide. If you really want to understand the underlying mental issues, then Coping with ED is a good bet as it analyzes some of the deeper self-defeating thought patterns. The couples approach it takes in solving the problem is somewhat different from the usual things you read... which is a good thing and makes the book valuable.

I only wish the book would have more practical tips.

Worthless book full of bad advice. If you have ED see a doctor and get meds if you need them. The problem usually has a physical basis, and needs to be treated as such. It reminds me of Mental Health Through Will Training, another piece of faith healing quackery.

I'm a therapist and I treat erectile "dysfunction" (this term is actually becoming dated and politically incorrect). Although books can't do the work that you need to do in therapy, I find this to be an invaluable resource that I have many of my clients purchase. Most erectile dysfunction can be treated with various cognitive and mindfulness-based therapies, and this book does a good job of summarizing, in plain language, lots of the basics and mechanics of this very treatable and very common problem.

helped me hone in on the root cause of my ed and killed the anxiety about it.
offers relationship advice too, which is tied in with ed.
I'd want to read this book even if i didn't have ed, just to learn more about myself.
