In the book there are not many sides concerning pills, but the few sides that there are gives good information with many names and the production difference between the types. Personally I've now during 4 years, after an accident, lived with constantly having pains, resulting in sleeping 8 hours opposite to before only sleeping 6 hours. First using pills against pain but now learned to live without pills.
Interestingly, in the book, among other, I on the side 53 discovered that the herbal kava-kava, vas taken of the shelves in Europe because it caused liver damage. One of the herbals, which it else, before this reading, was my plan to go looking at for possibly use.
Through out the book there are many good remarks concerning other books (and beside bag in the book 4 sides with other writings mentioned). And there are also many www addresses unions and associations concerning people having equal problems; or understand the problems.
My present doctor is 75 and he also has neuropathy. He takes my complaints seriously and he has been helpful.
The author of this book, Dr. Berman, is afflicted with a much worse form of neuropathy. Reading his book quickly inspires me with admiration for this man. And yes, not only is my outlook improved, but the book has suggestions that have helped me.
At this point in time, I'm not sure but, I seem to be improving. My pain is less. I now can sleep seven or eight hours each night. And that feeling of my socks being rolled-up under my toes is much less - especially in my right foot. The worst is getting out of bed in the mornings.
I can't say that anything you can do will be a remedy for these disorders. They all have differing causes. But if people so afflicted want to do everything possible to help themselves, this book should be on the list of to do's.
