It makes a lot of claims, such as being:
Scratch / Chip Resistant
Stay Cool Handle
I started by seasoning the pan as per the directions.
Coat the pan with a light coating of vegetable oil and place in a preheated over @ 300 degrees for 20 minutes.
After taking the pan out and allowing to cool, I was ready to test the pan out.
Initially I thought this pan may actually live up to the non stick portion of it claim.
I started by browning some tortillas.
Then I moved on to making some eggs. At first it looked like the eggs were not going to stick at all.
I cooked them on a medium heat. Before they were done cooking, they started to stick so bad they would hardly come out of the pan.
I tried seasoning the pan again the second day and started cooking some eggs hoping that the first time was user error.
They stuck again.
No matter what I did or what I cooked over 3 or so days would stick to the pan like glue.
The STAY COOL handle does not stay cool even when only cooking on a low heat. The handle gets pretty warm.
The pan came with a chip in the finish, and after using it only a few times with only plastic or wooden utensils, it already has visible scratches.
I will say that it does clean up fairly easy considering how bad things stuck to it while cooking.
I did perform all my test with no oil or extra fat however when using a little oil or butter the pan performs OK and doesn't stick as bad but that sort of defeats the purpose of this pan.
I will continue to use the pan with a little butter and for things I know won't stick too bad but never again for eggs.
Overall I give it 3 stars for what it is.
I will update this review should my opinion change in any way or if the product fails to live up to normal use.
This product was provided at a discounted price in exchange for my honest & unbiased review.
This discount did not influence my opinion of this product.
I believe honest reviews are important for those looking to purchase products and will never compromise my review.
It starts out well but inevitably it becomes a sticky mess. The more you use it the more it sticks.
The pan is poorly made. After 2 weeks of used it no longer sits flat and wobbles. Pics attached
This review is for the Red Copper 10 inch pan
After having used the pan for a month now (about eight times), I rate the pan 4 out of 5 stars but it is not the miracle pan as suggested by TV adds.
Following the instructions to season the pan, I pre-heated my oven to 300 degrees, waiting until it reached the set temperature. While I was waiting on the oven, I first hand washed the pan with a mild soap and dried it. I then spread a coating of olive oil all over the inside of the pan, on the bottom up the sides to the lip and all around. I set the pan inside the oven, middle rack and set the timer for 20 minutes. After the set time I removed the pan, let it set until it was cold. I wiped any excess oil from the pan.
For the most part, food does not stick when prepared properly. The pan does heat up quickly & evenly so it is easy to over-heat food on an electric stove. I find that if I heat food quickly it tends to overheat and will slightly stick to the pan. If I allow the pan to heat somewhat slower & use a spatula to move the food around, it does not stick and it slides right out of the pan, I am even able to flip things like pancakes and omelets.
The handle does get warm when cooking but nothing that is uncomfortable. If the pan were to be used in the oven, I would not grab the handle without an oven mitt.
Cleanup is easy, even when food did somewhat stick to the pan. A wet dishcloth easily wipes it clean. I have not seen a need to put the pan into a dishwasher so I do not know how well it would take it.
I have not tried to scratch the pan but I do use plastic & silicon spatulas without any noticed scratches.
