This was a present for my wife, who has bought board after board, all of which cracked or split (and we hand washed them, too). I loved how large this board is. For starters, it is bamboo, so it should hold out for a good, long time. It also seems to be extremely sturdy and well-made. It sets upon 4 round, bamboo feet, so the underneath will not get soaked with any liquids that may go over the sides and make a mess. The 3 stainless bowls are a really great addition. They hold quite a bit and are slightly recessed into the board. There is a cut-out area on the side of each bowl to get your finger beneath so that they can be easily removed.
After some use, it is holding up quite well. In fact, she is using it as I type. I have used it once, also, and am impressed.
The only downside is that we do not have a good place to store it. It is large and heavy. I will probably have to clear out a shelf beneath the counter so that it is accessible.
5 of 5. I will update after some use later in the year. No more crappy IKEA stuff for us!
NOTE: You may want to shop around for this board. It may be found elsewhere for a lower price. Sorry Amazon vendors.
NOTE #2: I must state that in order to keep this (or any wooden) cutting board in good condition so it will last a long time, buy "FOOD SAFE" Mineral Oil to treat it. This is NOT the Mineral Oil used for cleaning paint brushes or used as a thinner. The Food Safe Mineral Oil is usually found at Kitchen Stores (even online with searching). Use per directions on bottle.
Before you make your first cut, drizzle that board with mineral oil and rub it in with a soft, dry cloth. The oil moisturizes the wood, helps to avoid splitting, and gives the bamboo that lovely burnished look. Repeat this every day for about a week, then condition your boards once a month thereafter.
Wash your cutting boards in warm, soapy water after every use. If you're a real stickler, you should dry them after each use as well, but I prop mine up in the dish rack to dry, and my boards are still in great shape.
If you use your bamboo boards for meats, it's important to disinfect them after each use. Dissolve one part vinegar in five parts water, and use a sponge to scrub down the board. Rinse and dry as usual.Read more ›
Tons of chopping space, convenient to scrape chopped items into bowls during cooking prep. Note that both Pyrex and AnchorHocking custard cups fit in the bowl compartments too, if 3 bowls aren't enough. I love it and would buy again.
Things to think about (tho they don't bother me)--it is quite heavy and pretty big, so it would be a total pain to store. I leave mine out on the prep area of my countertop and wipe it down like a would a butcher block counter. Also, the finish is not as smooth as some other brands (like Totally Bamboo). The sides and bowl cutouts were sort of rough. I actually sanded it a bit when I got it before oiling it for the first time. And I do oil it about one a month. I just make sure it has completely dried and oil it before bed. I wipe off the excess before using the bect day (like I said, I leave it out on the counter so this oiling routine is pretty easy).

I love it but be aware that it is big! I keep it on my counter. The stainless cups are a very nice touch.Published 9 months ago by noni0109
This is a quite large, heavy, beautiful cutting block. The bowls on one side are very useful for segregating ingredients being prepared for a recipe.Published 12 months ago by Pegeen O'Callaghan

All in all, not a horrible product. However, the finish quality of the cutting surface and edges were subpar and quite abrasive. Read morePublished 15 months ago by Joshua J Erwin
