"Heather Haven is renowned for her mysteries, so rich in character, setting, snappy dialogue, and deliciously arch humor. Now we get to meet Heather as a short story writer, and it is a delightful meeting. This is truly a box of confections. Each story is a delicious surprise, from the flash fiction to the more developed works. I can only wish it were longer, and happily hope for more to come."
From the Author
This is a collection of work I've done other than novels. I hope it gives the reader a chance to see a glimpse of another side of me. While most are lighthearted, not all involve a murder and there are one or two with a slightly more serious take on things. All of them have a special meaning to me, whether it be crime doesn't pay, crime does pay or life can be tough, but nevertheless wonderful. Corliss happens to be my favorite protagonist to date. Someday I may expand the story into a novel. Jemma and the Shoe is a tribute to one of the more special dogs I've ever known. For the brief time readers read her tale (tail?) she is alive again, just like my Tugger is in the Alvarez Family Murder Mysteries.
