I have just one mug but I'm thinking about buying another one soon. The reason is because if you make a mug meal daily you may have one mug in the dishwasher. Unless you don't mind washing by hand which I've done. Just some recipes call for cheese or eggs and that cleans up better in the dishwasher.
One thing to remember when taking this mug out of the microwave is to just touch the handle of this mug. The actual body of the mug can get a little hot. But otherwise I'm very happy with this and will use two mugs at a time once I get another one. By this I mean if I'm making a dessert right after a dinner I don't have to wash the mug in between.
~The Rebecca Review
I didn't like the cap, but I didn't want the cap anyway, so I discarded it. The mug is now an essential part of my daily routine, and I bought a 2nd one in case this one gets broken. Even after over a year of daily use for coffee and tea, it still washes up to a bright white with minimal scrubbing.
I was happy to find this item, it is a really good microwave mug. It will hold one can of the progreso size soup with enough room to boil and no spilling over the sides. The lid a firm but flexible rubber like product, seals along the lip of the mug & also does well in the micro. Since the handle is solid, it does not become too hot to hold. The lid does become discolored from tomato based foods. Since I know it is clean, that does not bother me.
My only con: the pricing.
I selected Amazon prime for my purchase but during checkout it defaulted to a different seller. On my invoice I was was charged $12.97 not $9.99 as advertised. Of course Amazon quickly adjusted the error and refunded the difference. So watch for that during checkout. Yesterday, while shopping @ Meijers, I saw this same mug for $6.50. Same corningware logo etc, making it approx, 50% less than my online purchase. If you are watching your money, then check locally before you purchase.
