One word of caution, if you haven't used this type of clipper recently, be sure to wear garden gloves on the first few days of use. I hadn't touched a pair of clippers in six weeks, so my right hand was pretty sore after the first few hours of intense use.
This product is a definite "must-have" for all gardeners.
Our landscaper decided that we needed 2 rows of Knock-Out Roses along a fence (have you ever been attacked from all sides - it seems that way at any rate - by killer thorns?) Removing the dead flowers with a regular pruner on the first row was, of course, EZ. The second row and the bouganvillea behind it on the fence was another matter entirely.
Enter the Long Reach by-pass pruner. Cuts stems up to about 3/8 inch for me without hesitation and I like it for that. Basically (see my next comments) it seems to be well enough constructed to last at least a few seasons.
However, the way the blades are designed does not allow them to rub together enough, like my other by-pass pruners to cut the stems of the dead flowers. It seems to pinch or even just twist the dead flower stem. The design of the blades also leaves a non-usable area around the tip of the blades, unless the one I received was bent in some way - but I do not think so. Overall, I think they will be quite helpful but a design change or a little better workmanship could make them a real 5-star product.

Ordinarily, I wouldn't hold a company responsible for shipping damage, but in this case, it appears that it broke easily at a point where I'd expect significant strength. Read morePublished 8 hours ago by S. Phillips

Works great and the added feature of holding the cut piece is great for roses.Published 7 days ago by HWYBOB
Love the product. First, I would not consider this a tree lopper. I doubt it could easily cut through a 1/4" of hard wood. What it does cut is green stems and vines. Read morePublished 13 days ago by L from NJ
