About Corrine Kenner
Hi! I’m Corrine Kenner, and I specialize in bringing metaphysical subjects down to earth. I’m an author, astrologer, certified tarot master, and owner of the Haunted Antique Shop in DeLand, Florida. Thanks for visiting my Amazon author page!
I’m one of the world’s leading experts on the connections between tarot and astrology. I hold a Level 1 certification from the National Council for Geocosmic Research, a highly respected astrology association. I’ve written several books about tarot and astrology, including Tarot and Astrology, Tarot for Writers, and Astrology for Writers. I’m also a former editor of Llewellyn’s popular Astrological Calendar, Daily Planetary Guide, and Sun Sign Book.
I’ve been reading tarot professionally for more than 20 years. These days, I offer tarot and astrology readings from my Haunted Antique Shop in central Florida. I’d be happy to read for you, too! To book an appointment with me, either in person or online, visit corrinekenner.com or hauntedantiqueshop.com.
I started my career as a newspaper reporter, and in the years since then I’ve worked as a magazine editor, media relations specialist, technical writer, and website developer. I’ve written hundreds of newspaper, magazine, and online articles, as well as dozens of how-to guidebooks.
I’ve lived in Brazil, where I learned Portuguese, and Los Angeles, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from California State University. In 2016, I spent a month in a French castle, writing a novel — a project that was featured on CNN. I’ve also had the good fortune to speak at tarot conferences across the United States, Canada, and England.
Many of my books have been translated for a worldwide audience, too: they’re available in Chinese, French, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
I’m currently working on a novel based on the tarot, as well as short stories inspired by the cards. My next book, Gently Haunted: True Stories from the Haunted Antique Shop, will be released in September.
If you’re ever in Central Florida, please stop by my shop so we can meet in person! In the meantime, feel free to look around this site. I hope you’ll find it useful.

What does The Strength tarot card mean? There are speculations the Strength card is rooted in myth and legend, according to Tarot for Writers by Corrine Kenner.
One such myth is the fable of Androcles who pulled a thorn from a lion’s paw, but when he was fed to the lions, he was spared by the lion he saved.

Blog postThe Oldest Tarot Deck in the World Recreated by Robert M. Place A review by Corrine Kenner The new Marziano Tarot offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of Renaissance Italy.
More importantly — at least as far as I’m concerned — it confirms that the connection between tarot and astrology isn’t coincidental, and it wasn’t a recent invention. In fact, it proves that the earliest tarot deck on record was actually designed by an astrologer.

Blog postQuestion: Can you tell me what I need to know now about a new business I’m starting?
Answer: The card that comes up for you is the Six of Cups. It’s a lovely card that can only mean good things.
The Six of Cups depicts a young boy and a little girl surrounded by flowers. They’re both sweet, angelic little children — well dressed, well fed, and apparently well cared-for, in a protected courtyard surrounded by gardens.

Blog postTechnically speaking, yes. It’s a little-known historical fact that ancient kings and their priests used astrology and other divination tools to spy on their political and military opponents.
Ethically speaking, however, no … I won’t do it. It’s a violation of privacy, and without the other person there to clarify the chart or the cards, it’s just too confusing.

Who actually designed the Rider-Waite Tarot cards? Did A. E. Waite unfairly take too much credit for the deck illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith? In this two-part webinar we’ll examine the evidence. Join Corrine Kenner as she recounts gentle hauntings of her Florida antique shop. Meet the ghost of Annette Dennis, who holds everyone in the shop to her high musical standards and the spirits of Jim and Rossie Hearne, who possess the store’s newlywed dolls. Whether they are attracted to the century-old bungalow or the collectables sold within it, these spirits interact with the living to show us life’s joys.
In addition to hopeful stories, this book provides numerous tips for using psychometry, pendulums, dowsing rods, and tarot cards to help you reach out to friendly shadows of the past. Corrine’s experiences with objects that appear out of nowhere, move on their own, and radiate psychic energy reassure us that we can still connect to loved ones on the other side.
Simply choose a single word or phrase from each of the five sections, in order, and then turn those selections into a sentence. It's easy, because the sections are arranged like parts of speech.
Here’s a sample prompt to show you how it works.
1.descriptions (adjectives): vengeful
2.characters (nouns): historian
3.actions (verbs): steals
4.plot twists (objects): movie script
5.settings (more nouns): coffee shop
Add a few articles and prepositions, and you have a premise for a story: A vengeful historian steals a movie script in a coffee shop.
Look for combinations that amuse and intrigue you. Feel free to make changes, substitutions, and additions. You might find a garbage man in the list — but you’ll soon discover that your garbage man is actually a garbage woman, or a trash-picking hobo, or an environmentally sensitive vampire who sleeps in a landfill. Let your characters drive the story.
You can also play fast and loose with the grammar. You’re welcome to turn nouns into verbs, or objects into adjectives. Maybe your character isn’t a ghost. Maybe he’s just ghostly.
You can change verb conjugations, too. If your hero isn’t inflicting wounds, for example, maybe he’s the one being wounded.
Feel free to make the most of the suggestions in this booklet. Remember that they’re starting points, not final destinations — and let them take you into a story that practically writes itself.
When Corrine Kenner sets a timer for 15 or 20 minutes, watch out: you never know who will come out and play.
- Some of her fictional characters seem perfectly harmless at first—like Priscilla, the shy, sweet museum archivist who keeps a bowl of candy on her desk.
- Others, like the Flying Nuns, signal trouble from the start. No good can come from the Sisterhood of Eternal Pain, especially when they're at the roller derby rink.
- You'll meet the alien analyst who calculates algorithms for social media, spirits who step out of Salvador Dali paintings, and psychics with a dim view of the future.
