This was the fourth book in Sapphire's series but only the second book with the Russkaya Mafiya.
We finally get Viktor's book. He is Tate's brother who is running the Bratva. He was first introduced in Secrets & sent to 'take care' of Emily's sister, Elaina. But he feels protective of her & he becomes her official guard, watching over her at 007. But what happens when someone starts sending threats to the family?
Elaina was a great character, you just wanted to hug her, I loved her spunkiness & sarcasm. And she was VERY protective of Viktor, especially during one scene, watch out.
And Viktor, the suit loving Boss, who just adores his Princess. I loved the Russian he spoke to her.
We did get a glimpse of some previous characters. Ares, short but sweet!!!
I loved Viktor, he thinks he is corrupted but so does Elaina, they were both in conflict thinking they weren't good for each other. Can they get their HEA?
Can't wait for the next book. Mafia. MC. Whatever you write next I'll love!!!
PS. A book for Spar & Alexei
Loved this interesting story, the deep thought filled characters, and the super hot sexiness !! Super alpha strong Viktor is running the Russians since his Uncle died. We've met his brother Tate and Emily previously. These stories are raw, gritty and exciting. Emily's twin Elaina had a horrible childhood in foster care, but works hard, is strong, and yet sweet. Viktor makes his feelings known, he watched over her after her accident, he takes care of her, protects her, and loves her. Elaina needs all the things he can provide. There is a rampaging bad girl, evil deeds, action, suspense, retribution and graphic violence in this fast paced tale. The Russian was written out phonetically so we can say it properly. Lots of passion, sex, and acceptance on both of their parts. Viktor's is a violent world. As I said, these stories are very raw with the underbelly of crime.
But we love these guys, these bodyguards, these protective men, everyone of them. I look forward to more stories in this series.
A must read ! Can be a stand alone, but is richer and more meaningful is read in order. Highly recommend !! E N J O Y !!!
(Avid Russian Mafia fans, set you will like is Roxie Rivera's "Russian Protector" series. Read in order.)
Like book one, book four focuses on the mafiya men, particularly Viktor. He seemed a little less refined and lot more violent than his brother, but perhaps that is because of his job with the mafiya. Elaina was well developed but not as strong a character as other females in the series in my opinion. The glimpses of Nikolai and Sabrina have me wanting their story NOW!
This was the fourth book I've read in this series, as well as the fourth book I've read by Sapphire Knight, I am ADDICTED! (I really hope she is busy writing more Niko's story right now!)
I do recommend that you read books one through three before you read Corrupted. It will give you a better understanding of the characters and events leading up to book three. Plus, you don't want to miss the hot alpha males.
I reviewed this book on behalf of A Book Lover's Emporium book blog.
