Works great. Ran some RAM tests and everything checks out. The only odd thing is that the picture for the item on amazon is not what it looks like, but it is the same product number and specs. Seems to be just the cooling attachment that is different. I added a customer image for what it actually looks like.

Note that on the XPS 8300, my video card was actually in the way of taking the old memory out. You'll either need something skinny to push the clamp down or take the card out to swap memory.

I did see another review about using this memory kit in a Dell XPS 8300, but it wasn't too clear. Dell's maximum supported RAM for this system is 16 GB. However, it works fine with 32 GB of RAM.

Probably other ones will work fine, too. The only caveat is that most Dells would have come with Windows 7 Home Premium installed and that will only allow access to 16 GB of RAM. You need to have Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate to access the full 32 GB of RAM. You can do the Windows Anytime Upgrade to buy Win7 Pro if you want to go that route, basically it magically makes your existing install into Win7 Pro so you don't have to reinstall anything.

If you put more than 16 GB in a Home Premium system, when you right-click on Computer and go to Properties, you'll see the memory listed as something like 32 GB (16 GB usable). So the OS will see it all, it just won't let you USE it all. Harsh, ya?

I had looked this question up and not gotten anything solid for an answer so I tried it myself and am posting about my success.

Corsair is very reliable, been using them for 15 years and have only had one stick bad in all that time. Maxxing out to 32GB ram is a smart decision in Windows because Superfetch provides ramdisk so it perks the machine up big time, even with SSD you will notice a big improvement.

I went used for a big discount in price because Corsair warrantys for life... Love this company

I appreciated the ease with which this memory is handled and fits into the board. While one does not expect to handle memory often, just picking it up it feels solid. Of course, I've never had any memory in any computer ever fail, but still it's nice to know that Corsair takes good care in not only the performance of their products but the manufacturing in general. Speaking of performance, I have this memory overclocked to 1600 MHz but have successfully overclocked it to 1833 as well. I sincerely do not believe you can detect any real difference between 1600 MHz and anything higher so save some money and get his RAM and overclock it if your board supports it. It's great having so much RAM that you can do pretty much anything you want to do with your system.

I have long been searching for a memory module that is to be with a large memory, high speed and low cost. But, unfortunately, such is not the case, otherwise the company went bankrupt))) For a while I limit myself 8GB DDR3, 16GB then, but now I can not allow myself 32GB. The fact that you may have overpaid by purchasing a memory module with high frequency. But I would suggest you this Corsair XMS3 way it can easily overclock in the normal range. I have an Intel Core i7 2600k 3.4GHz, Motherboard ASUS P8Z77-M LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb / s USB 3.0 Micro ATX and memory Corsair XMS3 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 1333 MHz. After overclocking, I have the speed of the processor 4.8GHz, memory speed is 1866MHz. I'm happy!)

Bought these from a competitor about 2 years ago. They just failed MemTest.... who knows how long they have had errors but after some strange behavior i began to trouble shoot and found errors with the RAM.

Good news is that Corsair has a lifetime warranty and I allowed them to put a hold on my CC for $200 to ship my replacements prior to me returning these. They ship in 1 business day of getting your RMA.

This particular product failed but their customer serve won

Was a great value when purchased. Use it for running VirtualBox VMs at home. Stable.. Can't say anything emprically good or bad about speed, I just needed the capacity.

Only issue was I bought 32Gb and had to upgrade from Windows Home Premium to Professional to use more than 16Gb of it - and that is not this supplier's fault
