The SSD mounting bracket that solves two problems at once
The Corsair Dual SSD Mounting Bracket solves the problem of upgrading desktop PCs which only have 3.5 inch hard drive bays. Installation is straightforward: place one or two SSDs into the bracket with the screws provided, and then attach the bracket to any standard 3.5 inch drive bay. The black anodized aluminum looks great in any case, and it’s designed to allow extra clearance for connecting SATA data cables without straining the connectors.
The ability to stack two SSDs in the same bracket gives you additional flexibility. Even if you have just one available 3.5 inch drive bay, you’re not limited to a single solid-state drive. The adjustable mounting points support both symmetrical and asymmetrical dual SSD mounting, and it works with both 7mm and 9.5mm height SSDs.

There are many factors to consider when upgrading from 3.5" hard-drive (HDD) to 2.5" solid-state drive (SSD). One of those is that direct mounting of SSDs in most desktop computer cases is not possible due to lack of dedicated 2.5" drive bays. Corsair Dual SSD Mounting Bracket is a perfect solution to this problem. It is an adapter specially designed to securely mount up to two 2.5" SSDs into existing standard 3.5" hard-drive bay. It fits any desktop computer case with at least one standard 3.5” hard-drive bay available. The installation is straight-forward, which makes for the hassle-free transition to SSD. I have already installed about 15 or so of these brackets, and have decided I like them better than the Sabrent dual SSD brackets.
I have installed over 50 of the Sabrent brackets before I discovered these.
These are easier to use for the most part. Also, these put the connectors in about the same location as a regular hard drive, so it fits more brackets (such as those blue plastic ones Dell uses).
The ONLY thing that drives me nuts about these brackets is how they package the screws. It comes with 3 sets of 4 screws, each in their own little bag, which is TIGHTLY rolled up and then TAPED shut. It is really challenging to get the screws out without cutting yourself. I have written to Corsair to try to get them to change this, since I will probably be installing hundreds of these things.
These brackets are good, but some of the edges are kinda sharp. Of course, if you work on computers a lot you realize there are a lot of sharp things inside a computer case. But for you novices out there, just be careful when you handle these.
Bottom line: I prefer these over the Sabrents because of where they position the SSD connectors, and because it is easier to install a SSD in them.
If it's helpful for any of you: I installed this in combination with a Samsung 850 EVO in a 21.5" 2011 iMac. As mentioned, it took me forever to figure it out before I finally realized it needed to be installed UPSIDE DOWN in order for everything to fit properly. Hopefully that tip will save you time, and embarrassment! :) I've attached a picture for you to see...
But this product will fit inside the tower where you traditionally do a permanent mount of a 2.5 inch SSD into the 3.5 inch hard drive bay. It's made really well, comes with all the screws you need, and is easily modifiable with tin snips should you need to customize this item for your particular application.
The placement of the SSDs on this bracket is sufficient to suit my needs. I am not a picky person so I quite like that it fits its function for a good price. If you need to go all crazy with colors on the inside of your case this could easily be repainted to match whatever scheme your going for. It is a light metal construction that could be bent with your hands, but this goes inside a computer case so that isn't anything to worry about. Just something to think about if you're painting it.
Overall I like that it has plenty of screws and it's such a good price. SSDs don't always come with screws, but thanks to this one I have plenty for mounting and some to spare for other builds. Definitely recommend this as a go to mounting bracket because it's cheaper and you still get two slots.
The SSD slide perfectly into either of the slots (I chose the top slot). The bracket also came with 3 packages of screws (4). These screws worked perfectly attaching the SSD's to the bracket and they worked perfectly attaching the bracket to the computer case. The metal of the bracket makes it feel more secure and even looks nice.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an SSD mounting bracket.
