I have built a lot of computers and I have purchased a lot of power supplies. This thing is superb. I really like the way it is manufactured. It is quiet and has more than enough cables to run all of the internal devices I need.

Not a particularly quiet power supply.

"140mm double ball-bearing fan delivers excellent airflow with exceptionally low noise levels by varying fan speed in response to temperature"

No, my big FSB was low noise. This thing is not even close. Sounds like the old cheap one I had on my P4 before it went out and I got the 700W FSB. Buy it for the rest of the build quality. Don't expect it to be any quieter than the average one. After installing this, I decided to forget the idea of building a quiet computer.

SDDs making noise. NZXT Vulcan fan rattling at the top. Power Supply not as advertised. So I just used the stock Intel CPU cooler and got a loud overclocked GTX580 to go with my (now) hurricane of a PC. I probably should have gone for an expensive water cooling solution from a boutique, but at least I know how to replace all the parts.

This power supply is very well made. I also have PC-Power and Cooling 750 watt power supplies as well and ths Corsair is every bit as well made and dead silent as far as sound goes to what I can hear. These Corsair and PC-Power and Cooling power supplies are about the best units made. I also have high end Antec which are also well made but just not in the same class as this.If your looking for a high end High Power unit for a high end gaming system for either duel video cards or just one high end video card this unit will handle all your pc power needs for years to come.

PSU failed after just over a year. 1 loud pop, PC dead. Peaked inside the PSU and it looked like a capacitor exploded, white goo splattered around. Not a good thing for a product with a 5 year warranty. I chose this product because of my specifications:

1 128 SSD
1 3TB HD
Z77X intel motherboard
i5 3570K
GTX 660i graphics card
16 GB RAM

Usually 600W would be enough for this set-up. Opted to place a higher capacity PSU for peace of mind and maybe for future upgrading. PSU gave me a nightmare instead. Been reading some of the comments from other customers about the tech support from Corsair. I have submitted 2 tickets in the customer portal already and still waiting for their snail pace reply. I give this product 1 star. Customer service so far 0 stars.

Update:

Finally got through customer service. After not receiving any reply through their customer service portal. I tried to message them through their facebook page. To my surprise someone answered! Asked for my ticket number and made the ball rolling. Technician replied to my ticket through customer portal, gave them the copy of my proof of purchase, printed the return label, sent the blown PSU to them (you need to pay for shipping). Called the customer service to follow up my replacement (waited in line for 20 minutes). Finally received my TX850M (they ran out of TX850 V2 they said...?) 3 weeks after my first attempt contacted them. So if anybody out there is trying to reach customer service through the portal and failed. Try there facebook page. Calling customer service also requires patience (20-30 minutes wait time). Corsair needs to invest more to adding more man power to their customer service. Seems like only 10 people working their to cater everybody!.

Does what it is supposed to although pricey. Corsair has yet to let me down with their products, so I am happy to select them first.

November 09 2015: 3 years into a 5 year warranty and the second unit has failed. Corsair will most likely honor the warranty again, but the only warranty that interests me is one I never have to exercise. The cost of RMAs is considerable and will have added about $50.00 to the cost of this power supple making it terrible value for cost. Not to mention all the hassle involved with packaging and shipping broken junk. I have also been similarly disappointed by an expensive corsair keyboard. Corsair is no longer a supplier I will choose by default
