One important note is that this is a slightly newer model of the drive compared to the GTX released last year and its specs are slightly worse because Cosair switched NAND suppliers so any on-line review written before February 2013 will have wrong numbers. These new drives cannot be used in a RAID array with the older drives because the firmware is different. Cosair has not stated if they will update the firmware on the older drives.

I used Bootracer to test boot up times. Under Win 7 64 bit the time to log-on was ten seconds. For comparisons sake, the same time using my old WD 7200 RPM Scorpio Black laptop drive on the same system was 39 seconds. From log-on to desktop was an additional 5.5 seconds on a new installation for a total boot-up time of 15.5 seconds on the GTX. This emphasizes the point I opened with.Read more ›
My first SSD. Installed in a new Ivy bridge gaming system just yesterday. Of course plugged into one of my two SATA 3 gen (6 g/bit second) port on my mobo.
Some people whine and complain about slower speeds. Make sure you are plugged into the correct ports, and that you have the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard installed.
My benchmark for this drive using CrystalDiskMark with 9 passes of 1000MB files:
Sequential: Read: 516.2 MB/s Write: 450.5 MB/s
512K: Read: 377.8 MB/s Write: 443.0 MB/s
4K: Read: 28.60 MB/s Write: 109.2 MB/s
4k QD32: Read: 356.7 MB/s Write: 342.8 MB/s
I highly recommend this drive. Of course using it as a storage drive is silly, but for a boot drive and mainly used programs/games this drive is not only the 2nd fastest I know of (Samsung 840 Pro is a bit faster) but Corsair is pretty much the most reliable brand you can buy from these days.
It is absurdly fast, and everybody should be putting this, or ones like it, into their computers.
For this drive, specifically, had no troubles putting it into my desktop. It came with a caddy to be able to mount it in a larger bay, but my case already had purpose-built slots for it.
Note that this does NOT come with SATA cables. You'll have to bring your own.
Drive installed easily in computer with the included adapter, needed to purchase additional sata cable.
Using the ssd for operating system and programs, applications. A 1Tb spinner that came with the computer for data.
Win8 boots faster than I can sit back down in my office chair, applications like Word in just seconds.
What else to say, it works and works up to my expectations. Comes with a good warranty, talk to me in a year or so-
we will see how it does.
The other drive installed fine and performs nicely running Windows 7 Ultimate (no Win 8.x hear). The OS install was very fast. The base install Win7+SP1 was complete in under 30 minutes. After install 163 hotfixes downloaded and installed in under 45 minutes.
Boot time is amazingly fast.
When the failed drive returns I will be using it as a mirror drive for the OS.

I own three and one failed after about two years of use. Corsair took care of it but at this price point I'd expect better luck. Would recommend overall.Published 6 months ago by Smoochy
I use two of these for a RAID 0 configuration in my MacBook. The performance is incredible.Published 12 months ago by Carlos Omaña
Super fast and highly compatible. Reboots on crack... technology of the future. It costs a lot of blood or semen but well worth it. Read morePublished 15 months ago by Joy
